Drawback of Kx

I know this is supposed to talk about the drawbacks but Canikon people mostly miss out on the fact that Pentax can use lenses that are made in the past without the need for adapters! Just got meself a Pentax M 28mm f2.8!

Haha okay but yeah the other drawback some may think so is the use of the AA batteries. Personally I liked that fact that it uses AA. anytime can get juice as long as the shops are open!
Hmm the other drawback is more to the lens but llike what you have already mentioned the zoom motor is freaking loud! LOL everytime zoom sure attract stares! Be Interesting!

i found a drawback~~

the focusing is much noisier compared to Canon

but the night shots are awesome!!!!!!!!! dark shots that i can never achieved without a tripod with Canon can be easily done by Pentax via handheld ~ OMG

wait till u use it in bright sunny day... u be even more shock

Only drawback I can think off is the dark chocolate brown (#086) K-x is not readily available.
I saw an actual one recently and it really matches the Louis Vuitton brown. :thumbsup:
Looks so much better up close than on the K-x 100-colors special site and it really oozes luxury... :bsmilie:

wait, i forgot to make the snide remark that the drawback of k-x is that it is a pentax.

therefore your friends will not be able to recognise the fact that pentax is a camera brand.

i don't think so lah... pentax is very famous one leh... many pro use it during the film days... even now i saw many landscape professional photographers continue to use pentax 35mm camera...

yes, most of the entry level nikon, canon offerings are not weather sealed and survive bad weather fine.

weather sealing just provides greater peace of mind if you wish to flaunt it in extreme conditions.

that doesn't mean when you are bored you give your camera baths like some people do here. :bsmilie:

One drawback is that the price of this camera is so cheap you will be tempted to browse at all the pentax lenses thinking what to start collecting and the snowball effects starts........

Sometimes i want to change metering mode or autofocus mode (AFS,AFC) quickly but have to go into the menu, scroll to 2nd pg etc.....(is there a shortcut i dont know of??)

If there isn't a shortcut, i would regard this as a minor drawback...

press <Info> for the tiled icon shortcut page to change your settings.

Ha thanks for the info!really useful!But i think a dedicated switch or button would make it even better....

However i still rate this cam 10/10, no serious faults i can find...
IMHO for entry level DSLR this is the one to go for (for those still considering).....

hmm.. my VF seems fine. i can take proper shots with it so far...

though with the flickering led in the middle is a bonus but seems like i can make do with 1 without it just fine

Creampuff, right on. no high branded colour is sure a drawback.

if tie up with LV or Hermes and produce camera of matching color, Pentax will have more ladies or tai-tai type fans :bsmilie:

Should we even go to such lengths to find fault with a camera that is ~$750? What other brands tout as 'entry level' pricing? And what do those said entry level cams offer as compared to a Kx?

Comparatively I would only point out the lack of the super imposed AF indicator point.
Other than that, it offers the functions/features of what other brands are selling for $900-$1200 price point, and then some :think:
