yes, most of the entry level nikon, canon offerings are not weather sealed and survive bad weather fine.
weather sealing just provides greater peace of mind if you wish to flaunt it in extreme conditions.
that doesn't mean when you are bored you give your camera baths like some people do here. :bsmilie:

A few complain about some simple problems as it they were deal breakers but to me, the most important is the camera can take good pictures and its an excellent low light performer. And this camera can do both well.
Should not harp non-critical stuff like viewfinder not bright in sunlight or no red dot AF point or not weather sealed etc (have you wondered until weather resistant cameras were introduced recently, how did people in the past 100 years take photos? ...like Nike..they just do it) Its like buying a Hyundai Avante and then complain why it does not perform like a Lexus or Mercedes. The camera works. It takes photos. Its cheap BUT it does not pamper you!
If you ask me. the k-x offers best bang for buck. Go for it and join the rebellion...
The darkside does not offer as much value!

wait, i forgot to make the snide remark that the drawback of k-x is that it is a pentax.
