tired or more alert? I'm trying to weigh the pros and cons of jogging before I sleep or sfter I'm awake. :)

More alert definitely.... :)

For me, after a 10km jog, i will feel tired about an hour after the run, need to take a nap after that.

Jogging makes me less stressful :)

depends on:
1. fitness level + distance you decide to jog
2. nutrition during a long slow run
3. nutrition after a long run

Like Pizza? heheh..... *siam*

Jogging makes me feel bored. The longer I run the more I want to stop and nap heh....

it really depends on your fitness levels.

that said, most schools of thought would not recommend the former.

i sleep better after a long jog.

after i do a 12km run ( i only have time to run in the evenings after work) i will be sooo awake that i have problems sleeping.

i used to run that distance in the mornigns before work, and that made my day so much more alert...

from my experience it depends. If you breath properly during the process you should feel more alert (it is an 'oxygenated' activity - you take in more oxygen)...

Jogging makes me feel hungry, the more I jog, the hungrier i am, the hungrier i am the more i crave for food, the more i crave for food, the more i will eat after the jog, i more i eat after the jog, the sleepier i get after the meal.

Therefore jogging = sleepy.

To conclude, dun jog in the morning, it will make you sleepy for the rest of the day :embrass:

Just got back from morning walk at kaki bukit.
Organise by the committee centre but I don't stay there and I stay at telok blangah.

try out each type of session for a week and you decide which suits you best. there's no right and no wrong in this case. one man's meat is another's poison.

More alert. But I dont like running. :D

i used to take a 1 hr run during lunch time when i was living overseas.

i feel more alert after the run, when I am running regularly.

if i stop running for months then resume, i feel like dying even after the first 5 mins. stamina can be buid up over time, but also lose over time

I only jog when i'm very stressed....

Actually not jog lah... I sprint instead.

I will juz head down to the park with my MP3 then zoom for usually two rounds. Eh, i suppose two rounds abt 1.5 or 2 km..... The whole process of me going down stairs then zoom two rounds and go upstairs again do not take more than 10mins....

Then after that, i wipe my sweat & usually will juz head straight for the exercise mat which i have at home and drop dead...:bsmilie:

Wake up after maybe 30mins and i feel like i juz had a night's worth of rest.....

I hate early mornings (normally not up before 10am).....but the benefit is if you are doing 2-4 hour runs (@14-20 miles) then it gives you more day to play with. Your nutrition before, during and after will be key to how you feel after.....

I enjoy evening runs more.

LEP how many miles are you thinking of doing? Have you got a goal in mind?

2-4 hr runs are quite outa my league Lady Iron... erm sowwie i meant Ice. :sticktong I'm doing approx. 3km runs. Basically to de-stress and to ged some good ol' exercise to avert the battle of the bulge!

I personally prefer jogging after work but the prob is I end work in the wee hours and that it's prolly gonna b hard to fall asleep w the adrenaline pumping and all!
