Hi people, this is a documentary that I did recently.

I hope that this short documentary would be able to spread the intended message and awareness across.

Feedbacks are greatly welcomed and if you would have any ideas or enquiries for me, please kindly contact me at save.xavier@live.com

i never knew this trade was available in sg. I knew it existed in america from a channel on cable, they had a feature on it.
overall its kinda ok. But i gotta ask you what this is about. If its about the profession of the blade sharpener which is a dying trade, then a lil additional info on her shop(apologies if i missed that bit) at the lower thirds would do her some good.

The intro bit where you had someone using a knife cutting up fruits and such seems a lil odd now when i think about it. I wish you had expanded more on that too, like an actual customer who patronises her shop services. Not having seeing a continuing story developed from that scene made it seem to be there to fill in space. Seemed kinda long for an intro of abt 45secs though..... perhaps im just a lil impatient :)

on a side note, mind pm me the location of the shop? id like to get some of my mums knives sharpened!! :D

Bro,

Nice Work! I really enjoyed the vid!!

Lovely little documentary, I love watching people work with their hands and their tools.:thumbsup:

The close-up shots add a nice dimension to it, and I liked the narrative and interviews. Very interesting!

The one little gripe I had would be the sound, the audio is a bit iffy at times.
Such as when the surrounding noise seems to overpower the person's speech, i.e the part about David Choo the tailor.
And maybe you could add some relevant, unobtrusive background music to fill it out? Otherwise it seems like something is missing.

Great job and overall I enjoyed watching it, thank you for sharing!

A big shout out to the bros here for taking some time off to watch and comment on this video.

Sorry for taking such a long time to get back to this thread as I was spending alot of time on work.

I sincerely appreciate all the replies and feedbacks garnered and especially to ed9119 for featuring this on the CS community page =) Thanks!

With all the awareness, I hope this little effort of mine had increased Mdm Tan's customer headcount, even by one or two I would be extremely pleased haha.

Thank you guys and I will work on to improve my future works!

Excellent piece of work! Mind sharing the font type you using for the subs? Thanks
