Unless u want your photos from good quality to no quality.. :dunno:

case by case.. it depend on usage.. right? ... 2 differ person can own a DSLR for 12 mths, 1 carry it aroud for 12 mths, another kept it in dry for 12 mths, so..

anyway i clean on my own.. can see the differ before and after if you take 2 sample pic with small aperture..

send in only when the body got a problem.. eg. dust which can not be removed in the AF Points plate (happened last year in my 300D)

i dunno how to clean sensor DIY... so send it to canon for cleaning..

will send to them when i see spots appearing in my pics... :bsmilie:

i had a spot in my pics 2 days ago, i open the sensor and blow it with the blower, the spot is now gone. I will only send to professional if i still can see the spot..

1. 300D seems not to have a serious dust problem
2. My own cleaning every 1 year seems to yield good results - very clean after cleaning with pec pads with eclipse.

I just got quoted 60-80 bucks yesterday to get my sensor cleaned at canon as my 10d is out of warrenty.

i cam quite sceptical abt sending equipment for cleaning...if it is not spoilt....why risk it???

Never had the chance to clean it. Cause only just got my DSLR. Just wondering, what is the downtime for it to be cleaned?

How much does CANON charged for calibration? I think they do include cleaning the sensor. If not, how do they get a 100% result from a dusty sensor?:D

when you all say "bring it in", is there a location where you can just walk in and get the cleaning done ?

I tot it is 20 before GST ? or the 20 just apply to cam under warranty ?

Maybe after the calibration, they might just clean it with their t-shirts... BONUS! :bsmilie:

that's what i do to my mrc filters! :bsmilie: i can't be bothered!
