wah... I missed out on so much today.
Bitez,
looking forward to more pics esp the ones from 17 mile drive ;)

all the PP gurus coming out these few hours. hehehehe... Good job everyone!
Everyone just trying to see what can be done. No need to feel ashamed or anything. We can all learn from each other... :)

No guru here... goondu maybe

ClemC, which is why I refrained from any critiques way in the beginning when Nelly posted, dunno why i hands itchy and did some PP today... must be bored to death...

Nelly, don't feel ashamed and NEVER/DON'T delete ANY of the images you have taken... with time, and polishing, you will go back to all of them and do them justice... Trust me, I've went thru pics i've taken almost a year ago... Most of them I'd consider junks way back, but to my surprise just now I discovered gems among them that I didn't know existed... That's because, when you start to learn and embark on this long journey, you'll know what to do later. That's the beauty of shooting RAW images - you can salvage them when you know how... Photography is a life-long journey, nobody starts off highly skilled in every aspect... we just pick up the skills along the way, hoping to improve alongside time...

Try to pry some knowledge out of Akerue how he did that. That way, you can learn how to PP your own - always good to start somewhere.. nevermind sucky or not, keep working on it. When you finally learn how to do it yourself confidently and successfully, time to pour tea and call Akerue "sifu"... better yet, why not now?! :bsmilie: (erm...dun take my word too seriously okay? especially the last part)

Never thought of investing in 150-500 Siggy? :)

tried it before.. dont like the sound.. toooooooo slow to autofocus and f5.6 at 500mm (personal view la).. for birding, I prefer a fixed X00mm lens.(and then crop)..

No delimiter on the lens?

300 2.8 is also a consideration also, it works well the the 2x I have - seems to be designed and built for these lenses... Talked to a sports shooter before, who vouches on the combo he uses often on FX.

if you got the $$$.. go for the 400f2.8... :) .....

if you compare the 300f2.8 plus x2 and a 600f4... there must be a difference :) .. but I not into birdie or sports.. so unlikely to invest in those in the near future.. LOL... haven't even done marco yet (at least not in my recent memory)...
