Bro... those are googled lah!!! :bsmilie: Imagine what you can do if you have a DSLR and the time to wait it out....

I have a friend who recently went to uk for a 2 weeks tour with his mom and a good friend there brought him to all the really good spots for really good photos. His mom is mostly bored with the wait for him to take photos. :bsmilie:

Btw, Oregon is all about natural landscapes (all very accessible by rental car)... the only city scapes I took was when we visited central Portland...which is still a pretty looking city...with a nice river flowing through it...

That is why you must be well trained with your gears for fast deployment... secondly plan your time well so that you get the best of your shoot (for sunset or sunrise)...not easy but require a lot of planning!

You prefer to switch to Pentax or Sony isit? :bsmilie:

thanks to a few pentax and sony users here in cs hard selling their brand.... I have a change of heart. From a totally indifference attitude to looking at their gears with great interest.:sweatsm:

seems like pentax is going to release a ff body soon with the lowest price in the market while its sensor has the best dynamic range when compare to nikon or canon.

When I was there, I stayed on a house boat on Columbia river in Portland. It was quite an experience.

If my family is not so deeply entrenched in Nikon, I would consider Pentax. But do note some of their lenses are very expensive.

getting to the general location, can be planned.
however, moving around to find the best spot for the best composition can be really time consuming. Sometimes can be just a few steps away. Sometimes really a lot more.
Unless you are able to get a knowledgeable local to help you out.

Talking about yourself and your personal experience? :bsmilie:

Bro, what was the name of the band...???

band was called Shabang. :bsmilie: we did covers of top 40 in seedy bars.. in the sf area.

Biggest gig, which was also my last, we were playing in an irish pub/restaurant on Market street in downtown SF. employed by Oracle to celebrate JavaOne conference.

Good or bad experience? :sweatsm: The Columbia River Gorge is frigg'n wide! With high cliffs on both sides! They also have river activities like sailing, surfing and kayaking if I'm not wrong... But boy...the currents are pretty strong... I prefer watch from the sides...

Very good experience. The house boat is really big, with 3 bedrooms I think... they had a very fast speed boat which we took out. This was columbia river in downtown portland.

must go for the sony a550, or a55....

I would say pentax over sony. Simply just for value for money. Moreover, our previous best youth photographer winner is a pentax user. Look at his photos....drool...
