In my case, I'm using a short column hence my ballhead is closer towards the top... but I'm not using Sirui's ballhead okay? :bsmilie: Hence can do the job.

I'm using the short column with the G20 ballhead. Can reverse fold nicely, but a WEE bit wider than when using the long column after reverse folded

yeah... backside itchy lor... went for G20. But I'm happy with it!:)

im a lil curious, G20 max load is 20kg, but the T1004/T1204 max load is 10kg, so the tripod also cannot support up to so much right?

Yes, the weakness is the tripod, not ballhead.. hence your camera should try to fit within tripod's constraint.

Not really weakness okay, just saying that's the figure you should work out for your cam/lens/flash/etc etc etc...

I think this will give you a better picture.

ok i get it liao when the ball is attached it will end up in the bottom. thanks!

Yup. The lower max load will be the bottle neck. So it'll only be 10kg max load in this case

errr... do I need to bring my tools from office? ;)

please do.. i wan to test shot 35mm and 50mm :D

Ditto that! I wanna poison myself with the 35mm and 50mm too! I didn't think I needed it the last time, but this time I'm keen... :bsmilie:

hehehe actually I meant TOOLS, like grinder, saw, screwdriver, etc... coz everyone was talking about trying to swap out the long center column for the short one, macam like operation gonna happen like that :)

I brought UWA, 35 and 85 today. 50 kept at home. I'm sure someone else has it! :)

I trust the problem is how the knobs are designed on G20 that it prevents the complete closure of the legs?

errrrrr.. we didnt try the low angle functionality yet. and im not the one fiddling with the tripod.. im in chg of the cam instead.. :bsmilie::bsmilie:
the low angle thing mean how wide the legs can go ah?

I think it can do low angles... I read 135mm on T-1204X. So rest assured it can... the problem here is the ballhead G20 will make you unable to reverse fold well, especially if you put on the short column... Smiles88 has this problem. He's on G20 I think... give and take I suppose... If you want bigball head, and can reverse fold better...maybe to give T-2204X a look... test out the reverse fold with the ballhead of your choice first.
phew, T1004X also shows 135mm. whats that short column thing?

I'll bring the 50 then :bsmilie:

That can be solved by 'turning' the ball head. Can fit nicely one, just need to turn it

Wah, you wanna start a Bottletree (Texas) Chainsaw Massacre isit? :bsmilie:

35 and 85mm good also, me wanna test out low light without flashies... :bsmilie:

so even if buy G20 also no use when the tripod can only tahan 10kg? :bsmilie:

but i heard if the angle is changed to take vertical shots the total weight it can tahan is reduced by half?

I think all of the tripods can "open legs" (sounds a bit crude, but you get the drift). The restriction is the length of the center column. The wider the legs are splayed, the closer the tripod is to the ground. At one point the bottom of the center column will hit the ground.

I've not yet had to go so low with my current set-up. If I need to, I know what I'll be doing

It means how low the tripod can go. The picture i posted shows the tripod with the Long centre column. When you buy the tripod it comes with a short centre column that you can use to replace the long one, such that when the tripod goes low, so does your camera! :bsmilie:

That I donch know... maybe salemen talk... :bsmilie: Well, not really G20 no use... maybe in future you wanna upgrade poddie, you still can use the G20 wat... :bsmilie:
