You definitely need a tripod. Unless you can hold your camera still for more than 1 second. :)

If your camera tips, it's time to get a new tripod, because if you hold your camera, no matter what, there's bound to be vibrations. Make sure that you get a tripod that the thinnest legs are thick enough and not as thin as your last finger.

For taking landscapes, tripod is a must. Invest in a good one and it'll last you a long time. A tripod that allows your camera to tip isnt a good enough tripod for your cam :bsmilie:

haha. T1004X is pretty good. I'm using it. Total cost of it with a G20 ballhead is below $200. Still can get a McValue lunch set. haha. the R2204 and N2204, I think they are made of CF. One of it, I think the N2204, one of the legs can be detached to be used as a monopod.

For sunrise shots yes you do need a tripod. When the sun start rising your shutter speed is still pretty slow. Therefore you need to mount the cam on the tripod to prevent handshake blur.

You can have a look at the pricelist of Sirui's tripods here. The prices all very diff hor :bsmilie: T1004 is aluminium, R2204 and N2204 are carbon fibres. Carbon fibres are more expensive, so if you wanna spend less can go for the aluminium ones :bsmilie:

haha. then get a new 1. A tripod can last long. And if you're thinking of upgrading your tripod in future, there's always the B&S sub-forum. ;)

Hmmm. I don't think there is a bus so early. Try googling for SBS service 82

senior means richer than me. Hello, at least you guys have a better income than me and jeezuin. Although our income is very very very stable... :bsmilie: Want to resign also cannot...

why do we need a ballhead? doesnt it come with the tripod u buy?

so the beginner tripod model (aka cheaper) is T1004 or the aluminium ones rite?

when i was asking ard, a sales guy from CP recommended this Slik brand... but i dun see many ppl in CS using dat...

heh.. the tripod was given to me yonks ago on my birthday for tiny PNS... dats why it tips under the D90...

Hehe then its time to get a new tripod. A D90 is a lot heavier than a PNS, and dont trust ur 1k++ camera on a cheapcheap tripod. Invest in a good one! :bsmilie:

Sis it depends on where you live ba. For sunrise i normally try to reach the place by 6am or so to start setting up. First buses normally start at 5.30am or so, so it depends on how far away you live from the place. For me i live in yew tee, and sunrise are mostly pretty far away, so if i gonna catch a sunrise i'll just cab down.
