Haha,

wow, everyone here is going "woo-wah" over Olympus.

Well, gratz to those who got the E-620. Well personally i don't like the E-4xx series and this new E-620. Somehow, i don like the feel of not having the buldge out handgrip. Doesn't feel comfortable for me.

I must say that Olympus has done a great job on the recent few models: E-420, E-520, E-620 and the E-30. Of all 4 models i like the E-30 and E-520, may get 1 of them as my backup in future.

But, i tink Olympus should carry on with the E-3xx range? The porro-mirror DSLRs. The market has been stuck at the E-330 for a VERY VERY long time. Don't make it another E-1 to E-3 thing again. :X

Cowz.

opposite thing for me. i got so used to my e420 that handling a big grip feels awkward to me.

anyways, i think the e620 was designed to be a more compact e30. those who want full-sized features can opt for its bigger brother

Depends from person to person, like the OM series, and other film cameras in the past, they're all like one block, they're small, with no grip,I like the size, but i hate the feeling, but no choice, some like smaller built, guys like me with big hands, naturally will hate the design because it is difficult for us to hold on to it,but if i have to choose between E-420,E-450 and E-620,I would choose E-620 because of the it has the biggest grip of the 3

Yea,

and of course the best functions and performance. Mmmm, any E-3xx users here? I don't see many around outside.

Cowz.

Most probably upgraded, but some are still keeping their E-300 series cameras

Mmm,

but I think Olym should really develope the E-3xx series. Do you think so? The porro-mirror is a pretty good idea. That way we can have smaller DSLRs? agreed?

Cowz.

I heard somewhere that Olympus is trying to have 4 entry DSLR concurrently in the market at the same time, probably the bodies should be of E-420,E-520,E-620 and E-330,something along that line,so we have small and light, bigger with IS,small light with a slight bump and IS and something with 2 sensor live view and able to use to flash at 1 time, instead of E-420,E-450,E-520 and E-620,but that's me of course,Olympus must have a reason for doing the way they're doing now,but it will be interesting to see what can they do to improve E-330 though

CP quote:

$1050 - body
$1199 - standard kit

gst inclusive

What I read was SRL. :bsmilie:

In fact, it kept company with 2 other SRLs: the 5D Mk II and the D3x. All I can say is to keep those SRLs coming. The D90 was the only SLR there but the DMC-G1 was also in the list of awards.

i want the grip yeeehaa!! better grip n better juice :sticktong

Wow, Courts is damn expensive!
I got a quote from MS for E-30 with 14-54 MKII for $2160 a week ago, but I still think it's on the high side :) Going to wait for the "promised" price adjustment during the PMA to materialise before venturing forward!

Big shops ain't cheap... until last Sunday when the friendly salesguy from Best upped his ante and reduced the price to $1239. With 2 x 8Gb CFs, one extra battery, tripod and whatever thrown in. This I think equalled the quote from MS at $1180 for kit + 1 8Gb card.

But he can't bring the E30 price on par with MS...

Harvey Norman @ Funan selling e620 + 1 kit lens at $1164 with 2 X 8G memory card, 1 extra battery, tripot and camera bag.

Looks like not bad har... ;)

wow now they are throwing more memory card 8 GB some more but I bet it is Kingston... the brand I will not use anymore for critical mission (that includes holiday)

Haha, and kingston's speed are all so wierd 133x ? 288x cant they make some round figure?

Cowz.

Finally, I've got the E-620 as a backup to my E-3... The buttons on the E-620 are smaller than I thought, compared to the viewfinder on the E-3, the viewfinder on the E-620 is tiny... Pairing it with the 25mm pancake, it makes an excellent small form factor DSLR for carrying around daily!

Overall, a great little camera, only a minor quibble - I do not quite like the grip. I thought the grip will be like the E-420 which I like. But the grip on the E-620 has more bulk to it and when one actually handles it, it is less comfortable. Hmm... guess I'll have to learn to get used to it - I opted the E-620 over the E-4XX due to image stabilisation.

It is no secret that I like the Art Filters implementation by Olympus very much. And now that I actually see them at work, I have to say I like them even more, especially so when I could actually see the effect on 'Liveview'!

I think I'll be flooding the Photo Galleries with the photos processed through Art Filters ;)

Microcosm - I understand the recent concerns of posting pictures in Equipment discussion forums, but any possibility about a 'Show Your Art Filters' thread?

There is a thread for my review for E-30 and 14-54mm and there are already samples of Art Filters being shown.

For your own pictures, you can continue to add into the current Four Third Gallery we have, which shows the colours and Art Filters. That would be a good place to post, instead of starting another thread. I hope that is a satisfying solution for I really don't think it is a good idea to start another thread. Hope to have your understanding on this matter.

No worries, I guess I'm just over enthusiastic with my new toy ;)
