What's surprising is that the LX-3 is still in the list - it's been there for months! ;p

eh,didn't notice, but now that you mentioned it,it's suprising to me that G1 is less talked than LX-3

It's not surprising to me. Many people want cheap, old lenses and Four-Thirds and therefore, micro Four-Thirds mounts don't have cheap, old lenses. The LX-3 is also more simple. For many people, more choices = more confusion.

I'm glad to see that the E-620 is getting attention, but probably next week, it'll be the D90 again or the 5D Mk. II. It's just the way people think--like robots.

haha like robot you mean they dont think :bsmilie:
It is good to see a hybrid between 420 & 520. 620 is like their love child.

Just a question for those who hand on with e620..is the focusing as fast as the E3 ?
Any banding issue?

More or less. Robots hear Canikon all the time, so that's what they know. I remember recommending someone a Pentax camera and 99 % said "What's Pentax?" because the Canikon followers didn't even know that Pentax existed. If you don't know all of the options, how can you make a good decision? Obviously, the robots don't. They choose one of two brands because "someone" told them they were safe.

I think these bodies will bring Olympus more and positive attention for the first time since the E-1. I just hope that Panasonic can do for Four-Thirds sensors what Samsung did for Pentax with the K20D sensor--move them forward in a big way.

Erm... it's more like the illegitimate child of the 420 and E30...

wah sianz... y design a 510/520 upgrade using BLS batteries........... r they aiming for 410/420 upgraders only? and For 510/520 is the E30? Dun think upgrading to this... else all my batteries incompatible le. waiting for E30 to drop

I think more or less is because the size.As I've said here or somewhere else,my opnion is that 6-20 has the best of both worlds,E-420s compactness with E-520s IS system,if its to accomodate BLM-1,it has to be bigger, but since there are people who want smaller camera size, they made it smaller and therefore use BLS-1 instead. That's my guess neways, probably will continue with E-400 and E-500 series so there's the option of compactness with short batt life,IS with long life and IS with compacness and short life,or something like that:D

of course! you buy E520 is because of its IS mode, and then you don't really feel too bad for a larger body... ... anyway those entry to semi pro DSLR for other brand also that bulky. Then when you think you ready you will go for semi pro or better because of the response time and IQ... ... E510/520 is for semi pro and higher(seems like a calling hahahaha)

for E620 is for E4xx user upgrade because size is really a issue... ... thinking that i need to bring out day in day out i wouldn't want too bulky then this is current a best at the moment and they still have choice for micro 4/3 that is the G-1 and also maybe olympus come out their micro 4/3 this yr... ...

plus they dont want to call it E430 is because it include the IS mode(the diff with E4xx and E5xx is the IS mode and the grip) therefore come out as E620... ...sort of combine and compromise the advantages of each of them

I guess I'll be hung longer.

Another day of limited hands-on.

OVF is (to my eye) brighter as compare to E-420/520. The essential shooting information is lined below the OVF.

Next ---> :flame: me?

Well, a lot of people have liked the E-4x0 series but the grip has always been holding it back. People want the compact size but a bigger grip. Nikon's D40/D40x/D60 have taken away sales simply because those are about the same size but with a substantial grip. (The cheap, old lenses don't hurt, either unless you look at image quality.)

I think we have been through this "grip" issue before, when the first E-400 was released... sometimes the form factor works very well when one is looking for a compact back up camera that fit into the "in between spaces" in the camera bag and in some way I was drawn to the L1 when it was first released. But the Olympus being a E-System camera won me over with the E-410. I personally did not feel any problem using the E-410 except for the strap eyelet which gets in the way when I am shooting... it kinda just scrape my middle finger when I use a thicker strap (too cheap skate to buy a nice thinner strap for the small fella). :bsmilie:

But that said, everyone have their own preference. I find a small form factor with a grip can feel a little odd in my hand (thinking of the G1) but yet, there are those who loves the grip because it works for them.

I believe everyone have their own different need. And if I did not own the E-410, the E-620 will an instant hit for me. Especially now that it comes with a vertical grip which I personally find very important since I shoot a lot of photos in portraiture orientation.

I wonder how is the dynamic range like for the E-620. An increase over the E-3 even? But like Nikon, seems like Olympus has abandoned the ISO100 and moved to a minimum of ISO200 setting... wondering why.... at the rate we are going, we will all be buying ND filters soon...
