but by default the picture come out from the camera is at 72 dpi mahz...

So let say...

Picture 1
Dimension: 1800 x 1200
Dpi setting: 72
Request to print at 4R

Picture 2
Dimension: 1800 x 1200
Dpi setting: 300
Request to print at 4R

Any difference between picture 1 and picture 2...?

So when i am saving the file if i change the DPI from 72 to 300 before i send to prints
does it makes a difference if originally it is 72 and both the dimensions in pixel are the same.

that was a big question mark for me when i first needed to print for my gf's portfolio...
when u select pixel size...and set the dpi, there is no change.
but when u select units to inches, the pixels will change accordlingly.
try it...i dont use PS as i find it way too complicated. i use photofiltre...
but its the same method for resizing.

regarding your this question, no diff if you change dpi value but pixel value remains the same...
dpi value comes into play when you select inches when cropping.,
only when select inches unit, then by changing the dpi value, you will see your projected pixel value change accordingly to the calculation table posted earlier...try it....
