US$850? Nah ... I don't think that'll be the market price once it's out.

It'll still end up winding to and fro for Macro lenses, and this WR version isn't going to be much different, so that's why the FA or F focus limiter is actually quite useful. Having said that, I don't find that a problem really.

It's metal body but it's not built like the Voigtlander or the FA one... Personally, having owned these lenses before, I'll still go for the DA WR one as I really didn't enjoy lugging heavy lenses.

It's wonderful test post. I'm starting regret for the purchase of the old model. Wahaha

The old model is a very capable macro lens, and it still has some features which are missing on the new model (non-rotating MF ring, focusing limiter, aperture ring ...), no need to regret

One of my favorite sites and this one is already using the WR!

Yeah, this is one of the better macro lenses for portrait distance work. I have yet tested it out for macros, but look at those closeups on the weblog Bernard posted above, I'm very sure this is a great performer for macros too.

Brought my kids to MacRitch Resevior over the weekend to see the monkeys. The DFA100WR serves pretty well as a normal mid tele lens:

I got it from China for the price of a new DFA100 non WR macro here in SG

I like it already ... I spoke to Chiif recently, visited his shop at Excelsior, and he mentioned that there may be a 125 Mark II. Coincides with what Denis was thinking of as well.

aiyo, rumour nia ... you have to try the voigtlander to feel if it suits you. I think I still prefer the WR for now. But 1 thing that the WR can't do, and the voigtlander can, is razor sharp pictures at f2.5! It's just incredible, don't even need to post process!

Yeah man. The voigt is everyone's dream but prices have escalated sky high ever since its discontinuation. Beautiful lens except for that hood. Ha.

most probably will be the same optics with rubber focus ring and CPU chipped...even if its improved, it will be very marginal and the price gonna be crazy... so doesn't really matter to me...

anyway im extremely tired right now... just thinking of catching some sleep tonight... either way i dun have any budget to spend for a while...
