I got this dell 24". bought it at 1.5k. I also got the mother of all crt sony trinitron G420. Using ati x800. Now i lack is the damn camera and lense before i can do some serious photography and editing. Can't even find a place that sells my dream lense, so cannot buy my d200.
when you buy it at 1.5k ? now he price goes up liau :( duno after the promotion will come down or not

if you are using the monitor for serious photo editing or something like that u might want to look at eizo s2110w. was recommended in HWZ by andys.

*remarks : 14bit colour reproduction (whereas normal is only 8 or 10 bit) & 10 bit gamma correction.

if you want good value for money then dell 24" will be the better option.

thanks for recomendation, eizo i read review is good but very pricy leh

I got mine (dell 24") few months ago, and never regret. For those who got money to spend, can try apple but not for me. I think apple overcharge consumer for their design.

Dell 24" has good contrast, color, but too bridght for some, but you can adjust it down to min and later you'll soon get used to it. As for 1900x1200 resolution adj, I don't have any problem with it, just make sure your display driver is the latest and your graphic card can support such high resolution will do.

make me really gian.... but the down side is the price goes up leh:( :( :(

me going to not sure the destop PC from starhub can drive this display or not:think:

anyone ever bargain the price with dell, i heard that you can bargain with them.......

anyone ever tried can give me advice :)

today duno their hotline got open or not .. tomorrow will try:)

I avoid buying anything with Dell name on it.
You will understand why when you need back up service if it goes wrong.

did u see any differences ?

I don't really sense any difference. Maybe it's because I don't put them side by side to compare.
Anyway, I don't see pass the pixels on the screen, meaning I don't care on how they design their casing.

My line of work does require that level of accuracy, if there are any.

I got mine recently for $1500 inclusive of shipping and GST.

Had trouble getting my DELL comp to display at 1920X1200. The installation CD sucks and is almost useless. The graphic card driver downloaded from Dell website doesn't work. Almost wanted to return the LCD. In the end, managed to download the latest driver from the graphic card website and it finally work.

Those who say that the DeLL 24 is as good as the APPLE 23" are just toking c*ck!
I'm really mislead by such claims and posts into purchasing the DELL.

There is no need to install any drivers for this monitor. I just plug in the DVI cable and it's working. As for gfx card drivers, always install the latest from the manufacturer. Shouldn't have any problems displaying the widescreen resolution.

I think the Dell is way better then the Apple. CF/SD Card reader, Multiple inputs, Tiltable screen. What does Apple have? Just that silver side bezel and the Apple icon. And they charge you almost $3K for IT!!!

Can someone tell me what's the diff between analog and digital for the cable connection?

What did you buy?

oh lucky not me
my co worker bought Dell PC
got problems
the one selling it or sending it say I only sell it/ send it and install.
If you got problems you have to call another dept;

in other words, message seems to be
[not my problem you dope, who asked you to buy from Dell?]

and then you wait.
if they turn up, they may or may not solve your problem.

I think the pc components not 1st rate anyway.
The trick is you cannot specify in great detail what you will get.
It is supposed to be low cost so you cannot complain.

I much prefer Sim Lim Square small IT shops where you can custom specify and build
according to the components that you want.
And back up svc is 1st rate; if got problem bring back and they deal same day, no such thing like waiting 2 weeks; and no charge except if you change components.
Small IT shop is smaller and service is more personal.
Not a giant international company with many departments. Perhaps no one cares or no one has ownership of the problem facing you.
