My turn to post pics. Expensive trip though cos i flooded my cam.

Great pics... can always expect stunning pictures from you!!

like them all, love the batfish portrait the best!

flooded!@#$ how/why did it happen?

Strong surface currents at pinnacles II, must have kicked open the port while finning for the downline. :dunno:
Noticed when i saw my port floating away. Dive was aborted in the end and we went to pinang where i became an 'expensive' dive guide.... :bsmilie:
Anyway camera body is gone, lens probably too (luckily was the cheaper 35mm macro ). Housing viewfinder got water inside (??) gotta get that checked out. Luckily housing electronics not fried.

sorry to hear that ... :embrass:

Great Pics....

Sorry to hear about the flooding.....

Sorry to hear about your case. Got insure for your equipment? Can get it done before your trip , right?

sorry to hear the camera is now an expensive paper weight.

here's a diy trick from another forum that is applicable to the 8" dome. which might be able to prevent these from happening.. click

ouch..sorry to hear about the loss. at least you didnt lose the port too. didnt know it floats. i'm always very afraid when divers come near to me when im with my precious underwater...i usually gently shove their heads into the coral while i swim above them. ;)

It didn't.... Just sank slowly so i was able to retrieve it. Well as luck would have it was doig that dive with the 35mm macro which i dun really like. May or may not buy that lens again. At least i just got an extra camera body today on the cheap. :)

great find, I will definitely try that ...

I think the problem is not with the 8" dome rotating, rather the uneven pressure applied to the dome and port by having just 2 port locks in the 2-8 o'clock position. David at scubacam showed me a DIY method to secure the ports better. Will try it out and see how effective it is. :)

The E520 fits the same housing, perhaps you can upgrade?
Sorry to hear about the flooding.

Aiyoh!!!! Sorry to hear about the flooding. Heart pain!
