Rumours, gossips and pranks have been done about Sony releasing newer models of KM-mount DSLRs. Many times, we had try to search relentlessly in Google, to find glimpses of hope that Sony will not dissapoint us in continuing the roots of Minolta. The purpose of this thread is to allow all KM users to share every little bit of details regarding this issue, and enabling us to discuss the reliability of the infomation posted.

Here's one post in a forum that will make KM users delighted.

Will believe it when it's posted on SONY or Minolta website. Everything else is just speculation.

SONY keeping quiet.......see more people jumping ship.....now not sure about picking up more lens especially non-Minolta lens...cause wondering if SONY were to do what CANON does...make third party non compatible on new body. :dunno:

An inclusion of motion-prediction lenses & motion-freeze technology would be good.

Maybe can include an extra manual on the 108 acupoints on the human body as well as a year's supply of acupuncture flying darts with IR targeting crosshair.

"Sony is planning to develop digital SLR cameras compatible with Maxxum/Dynax lens mount system, so that the current Maxxum/Dynax users will be able to continue to use them with Sony’s digital SLR cameras."

Sony will come out any good DSLR body (FF sensor) ? another major force besides Canon, Nikon ?

Ah yes. Press announcements...

They'd better live up to their promise! :bsmilie:

I had an opportunity to visit PMA 06 in Orlando. Went to Sony stand, but nothing is revealed. The marketing just said that Sony acquires KM due to its technology and rest- assured that development is on the way. Nothing else. I was kind of disappointed with the reply, but again, I think they still have to straighten up the take-over issues.

The question I asked: FF CCD or CMOS/ memory card/ AS/ lens technology (coating and mfg)?. These Sony marketing folks just plain technical-challenge.

Sony was promoting its R1...

Ah, yes. The R1. Current Flagship model eh?

The new 'Sony DSLR' I'm not really expecting a lot out of it.

if sony did bought over minolta's engineers too, the next product will definately be good.

With Canon 5D price dropping and Sony merging with KM, a FF mostly will surface in next generation DSLR with A-mount. Maybe ard a price tag of 4k to 4.5k might be there. So, let's wait and see. ;)
