I went to ebay and looked for remotes... there's those one-button type, and many-buttons type. One-button type enough?

What kind of lens more suitable? Kit lens enough? Tele? Prime?

I dunno what is bulb mode... go home study more :hung:

Those one button kind is enough, you can also check out our mass sales thread in CS for the remote.

For fireworks, the kit lens is good enough.

Is Velbon good? I'm thinking of borrowing first, because moving house in jan, dun wan too many stuffs :bsmilie:

I have an old Akarui tripod lying around. If you are interested i can lend it to you. That tripod is similar to the Manfrotto 190 series and about the same weight. Some might find it a bit heavy to carry around.

If you staying around Kovan, i can pass it to you at Kovan since i staying around that area too.:)

So for Dec 2010, we will have 2 outings? I suggest one is monthly outing and the other one is yearly outing :)

don't underestimate the 18-55 kit lens... its actually a pretty solid lens

tripod if can borrow, try to borrow first. don't buy cheap ones. waste money. :nono: u'll get fed up with it in no time and you won't be able to re-sell it for a reasonable price. end up with unwanted equipment u can't get rid of.

u can consider benro if u're looking for a reasonably good brand... or if u have $$$ can consider manfrotto or even gitzo.

for long exposure, either M mode or bulb mode better :) AV mode cannot control shutter, TV mode cannot control aperture.

Sirui is a good tripod for consideration

for the firework, it is at 9:30pm... for 5 mins only...
enter Sentosa $2 + another $5 for the stuido...

place to walk around is limited to Holywood, new york and a bit of madagascar... cannot go "far far away"

side joke:
the firework is very short and very near...
the flash of the firework is very bright... really like using flash gun pointing at yourself...
the firework can flash until watery eyes and cannot see the firework...

Will be having my exam in the Dec til the 22th. Hopefully I'm able to join one of the outings (if there's 2) at the end of the month. :)

I took the mono rail from Vivo City to Sentosa was $3 on a Saturday morning.
Is $2 the reduced rate for night visit?
Don't think it's an issue about the fireworks since have been to S'pore FireWorks Festival at Marina & at Kallang River for one of past ND fireworks. Both of them seems exploded on my face.:bsmilie:

Mono rail $3 is = $1 for the mono rail + $2 for sentosa...
by RWS bus $2 is = $0 for the bus(because it bring you to caisno's door direct) + $2 for sentosa...:bsmilie:

also have to note, the place to watch firework is not very big, so go chop good place early...
