Went to John a few days ago and got a D90 + Nikkor 18-105mm VR + Sigma 30mm

Much bulky and heavier than expected (p.s. : this coming from someone who uses RFs and PnS only)

Hi, Challenger is having road show and price for D90 kit is 1788 come with 2 x 4GB, and cleaning kit. Is it worth the price?

Tripod looks flimsy, Batt 3rd party no go for me, didn't like the bag.
Can deduct $188 if you do not want all the freebies.
Voucher sounds gimicky to me. I mean they can give me $150 voucher but the service man could charge me an exhorbitant fee for the service as well.

Anyway, got my D90 + 18-55mm kit at Max for $1540. Cos for a start, I don't think I want the 55-200mm.

Hi guys...

I am newbie using DSLR. Just bought my D90... Need some help from Nikon expert

Recently i found out that some of my pictures taken cannot be zoom in using camera. And i also cannot edit some of my picture using D90 such as crop and many many stuffs.

There is a PROTECTION button (key icon) on the left of camera. I did not lock the picture.

So what is the problem with my camera?

Hi,

I just bought the following from MSColor:

D90 with 18-105mm kit lens + Digi Cabi 30L dry cabinet + Digi Power battery + Cleaning kit + Hoya UV(0) double coated = $1850

Is that a reasonable buy? Btw, MSColor quoted me $37 for that Hoya filter. Is that over-priced?

Press the protection button on your DSLR to un-protect your images. If it is protected you cannot modify/edit them.
Cannot be zoomed? Pressing the zoom button does not zoom on your images?

I was at KM8 on Sentosa last night, trying out the D-Movie on the D90 and it looks fantastic even only at 3200 ISO when I filmed the fire jugglers. Was so excited by the great shots that i got i forgot how to adjust the ISO to H 1.0.

Will probably try it out again next week.

I just got my D90 last Thursday with AF-S DX 18 55mm and AF-S DX VR 550-200mm for $1860. This is my first camera. I am very happy with it :bsmilie: I am a newbie in photo taking. Hope everybody please give me more advice. I like to take marco photo but dunno what lens to buy. Some cheaper lens.

Oh my... I've been doing that when I'm recording video of my nephew. I use the kit lens then try to zoom in and out and focusing while recording. but currently I dont have any problem with my camera.

Anyway thanks a lot ayurism for the warning. next time I wont be doing it when I record videos.

I've not gone through the manual about it, but it sounds like it'll wear out the gears that control the autofocus. I wonder if it'll be a problem if i switch it to Manual Focus on both lens and body???

I tried the depth of field, different subject focusing for the Video mode, ending with a blur out of focus...luckily the lens is still ok.
