Smiles please PM me I will tell you the price I paid for my new D90.
DD please do not feel sorry that I made my informed decision on how to purchase my D90. If it is a good unit I will deal with it. If it is defective I will deal with it also.
In the shop: 3 photos were taken and then the shutter count assessed; 3. A photo was taken, I assume on manual with the lens cap on, and then the resulting photo was put on the computer, and a program was run to look for hot pixels or dead pixels. None found. Then a photo was taken, you know, of like a ruler. This was blown up on the computer. Accurate auto focus on that photo.
It is not in anybodies best interest to sell to consumers defective cameras. The first week, agree, is a bit scarier with no Nikon warranty. But hey, I can self insure a thing as cheap as a D90. The whole issue of "insurance", and "warranties", I suggest is a consumer's choice. How many people buy the notorious "extended warranty"? Those things are cash cows for retail stores. OK, just was typing my one reply as more replies came in. Oh yea, have charger, USB cable, CD, TV cable, I think everything except manual and warranty. As always, thank you.
