guys,
is there a way to auto center the AF point in live view after shifting the point to the side?
Any short cut button?
Try the centre of the 4 way key.

ML-L3. Only problem is if someone else is also using the same remote, it will fire your cam if both of you are nearby. But chances are rare. Can cosider the wired one. Chk out the link I gave you? You can go down to the shop & take a look![]()
I've not tried with the cables before. Only troublesome thing with the Ml-L3 is that you have to reset the timing over & over again, if not after 15 mins it auto off & you forget to reset it, when the 1 in all important shot comes, you hit the remote & it dosen't work.Yep, ML-L3 is a good buy. I don't like to see cables and I can't take a self-portrait discretely :bsmilie: I haven't heard of anyone accidentally firing somebody's else camera. Best solution is to stand in between a non-nikon group of photographers :bsmilie:
just got my D90 last week.. feels great and different from the ancient D70
anyone kind enough to conduct a D90 masterclass/workshop? lol

hehehehe I was about to say eyeballs.... but yours takes the cake
anyway back to the D90...
I tried programming my 'Fn' button to open up my recent menu settings, but then it doesn't seem to work. I press the 'Fn' button when in shooting mode, and nothing happens. Was worried that button spoilt, but then I tried configuring it to activate spot metering, and it works. When I press the Fn button, I can see the metering mode change to spot metering.
I probably can find it by reading the manual...D) but feeling lazy now.
edit: According to KRW, the Fn button can be configured (in menu f3) to "top item in my menu". So I presumed that when I press the Fn button (appropriately configured, of course), the menu should appear... but it doesn't
it is the my menu, not the recent menu. You have to change to display my menu and set the first item there. I set it enable auto ISO
How much you wanna pay??![]()
I feel kinda silly about this, but I was playing around with the D90 last night, and for the life of me I couldn't find the "My Menu" setting. sigh...
you organize la! Sure got a lot of people attending...how bout D90 outing or sharing group? :bsmilie:
I'm also trying out how to move the focus point quickly in LV.
If you press the centre "ok" key during LV, the D90 will take a video instead.

Not sure if the cable will bypass the 15 mins standby time  :dunno:
Anyone out there have a clue?
Roger thatI have the MC-DC2 cable... Used it once - the trouble is, with this cable you can't use the exposure delay function (where mirror will raise up 1 sec before shutter opens). I'll test it out again to see if it allows you to overide the 15 min auto off.
