Happy New Year!

I just bought the original grip for my D90.
I'm having problem with it bcoz sometimes in the middle of shooting the power was shutdown and the battery indicator blinking which means that the battery was exhausted(as per MBD80 manual) even if both batteries are full charge.

Do any one here have the same issue? what did you do to fix the problem?

Many thanks:)

Mind PMing me how much and where you bought it?

Possibly it is a contact problem between the battery grip and the camera. If you use the same battery in the cam, without the grip, everything is ok? Battery shows as fully charged?

are you using original or 3rd party batteries (or a mix) in your grip? might be contacts issue as what ZCA mentioned, or could be 3rd party batteries issue. 3rd party batteries can sometimes act weird when used with the grip. :dunno:

Is anyone here selling Original Nikon Battery for D90?

I guess it is the better way to resolve my grip problem...

Please help...

Many thanks!:)

I just got a Nikon battery just 2 weeks back from SLR-R from Funan. Enquire on the price of grip is similar to what Newbie26 got. Compared against the original battery and both are the same. So, presumed should be original. Even the luminous NIkon is also same.

Ya, my current lens is in my profile. Still saving up for 70-200/2.8 though.

how much did you buy?

HI, I got it for $45/-.

24-70/2.8 - Not in my radar screen. 24mm is bit narrow for D90. I think 17-50mm suits better, if there is 16-85/2.8, then it may consider as it covers wide to tele.

Cheers~

the trouble about tamron 17-50 is that need to be readjust to your d90 to get better in terms of IQ or sharpness. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Any lens may have the same problem. As long as you test it on the spot before purchase, you should be satisfied with it. :)

I'm quite happy with the IQ on this lens. In fact did a comparison against my 50mm 1.8 and it is not much a difference. The only dislike I found is it hunts in low light. So, need to switch to manual focus when it hunts. No other complaints with this lens. Of course this cannot compare with Nikkor 17-55 2.8.

I think IQ wise tamron is good choice for 17-50 2.8 lens....
You can also consider sigma 17-50 f2.8 i read in the review that it is a lot better in low light compare to tamron.
