Depends. If the filter is of an inferior quality, then there might be ghosting/flare. For many people, filter is just there for protection of the front element.

haha yup im one of them! normally i will use hood rather than filter

Specifically for night shots, I would not use filters.

Ya. Actually I've never heard of them before. If possible, can take pictures of them to show? :)

Zeikos, Neewer, Massa filters.. You will find them in ebay and amazon for sale and comes in package.. For 10-20sgd youll get 3filter(uv,cpl,fdl) dont know how good is the outcome using them..compared to famous brands that costs 50and above.. Certainly, filters do have effects on pictures leh..protection is just another thing..

I would refrain from adding glass of dubious optical quality in front of my lens.
Maybe read the sticky thread at the top of the Newbies Corner, titled "Newbie Guide to Filters"

:)

i dont think there is any best filter but the more popular ones that i can think of is Hoya and B+W.

for landscapes, you can consider Cir-Pl and ND filters.

it is good to try and experiment with different things and see what it can achieve and whether it suit your style or preference.

Hi,anyone please show me the correct way for my D90. I got D90&sigma 18-200mmDC OS,nikon 50mm f1.8D,18-55mm kit lens. I want to capture wide view, but all of that doesn't work for wide shooting. What should I do if I wanna take wide view photo? Should I buy wide angle lens?

Problem is I can't spend a lot money. Please show me good way,,,thank

How wide are you looking for? Is the 18mm on your Sigma lens not wide enough for you? Take a few steps back? Or are u trying to capture panaromic pictures?

You may like to try out "poor man's wide angle lens". It is actually a wide angle adapter attached to the front of your lens. I used it on my compact and the result is quite good. Do not expect professional quality but I would say it is value for money for budget constraint.

Can elaborate what you mean by "doesn't work for wide shooting" or "take wide view photo"?
I'm worried your interpretation is something different, like fisheye or panorama or something, in which case even a UWA like 10-24 may not fit the bill.
You can consider selling away one of the 18-___ lenses to fund for your UWA purchase.
If budget is tight, better hold back your expectations.

Like what ZCA said, you got to elaborate more on "wide view". Depending on what you want, there are a few ways.
1) Purchase a UWA?
2) Purchase a fish eye lens?
3) Carry on shooting with your 18mm lens(es) and stitch the images to form a panoramic image
4) If you're referring to the view you get from your VF, either buy a wider lens or a new camera. :)

This is what I think. Correct me if I'm wrong, people!

Good suggestions but I think that #3 may work best for cost as Kyaw Kyaw indicated that there is budget constraint.

But we do not know how much is "a lot of money" to him/her. With no definite budget stated and clear elaboration of "wide view", it's difficult to advise.

But UWAs can also be quite reasonably priced. Like Sigma 10-20mm?

To do a good panoramic image will require a good understanding (ok, that doesn't cost much in real $) and a decently solid setup. May be beyond the "I can't spend a lot of money" budget limit as well... :)
