yup, and it has a crack already, still lucky that it's still working, thank God.

i plan to get a D7000 maybe next year, but my D90 will definitely stay... It made me a better shooter...

here is a photo i took hours ago...

Hi! I am using D90 together with nikon 50 f1.4d lens.

Is there a problem with the body or the lens as sometimes i cant use 3d af tracking? Sometimes when i go to menu it will say function not availBle.

Should i bring it to nsc? Lens or body?

Thanks!

Guys whats the maximum sync speed on a studio strobe for D90? using radio trigers like PWs and RF602 Youngno

if i'm taking a shot of the ceiling with the camera mounted on the tripod, you don't expect me to go beneath the camera to look at the viewfinder or shooting information display right.. :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

or rather, the more "logical way" is to look at the top control LCD panel.. :p

if u need this kind of meter on the top, look at the D300/s their is on top.

Got this problem some time ago, can't really remember . . . but
I think if you set to 'AF-C', you will be able to get the 3D tracking back . . .

It is the setting, so rest assure that it is not the problem of the body or the lens.

there is someone who actually post something on youtube . . . it is about a destructive test between canon and nikon. (thru throwing, splashing of hot water, using as shoes to walk, etc etc)

And both can withstand the 'tortures'. ;)

have to look that the spec le.
for sb800 is 1/200.
I'm quite sure that D90 can sync at higher speeds than 1/200s with a Nikon Speedlight... need to check this and verify.
Shouldn't really need anything much faster than 1/200s for studio work though. I think even doing stroboscopic work (eg. multiple frames of a ballerina in action) shouldn't require faster than that.

D90 has high speed sync capability with nikon CLS-compatible speedlights. just need to turn on auto FP on the menu (e5) to get 1/200-1/4000

also with AF-A. only AF-S does not support 3D tracking

oh okie! let me go home n try it out.

Thanks weegk and pasay... Will try out the remedies mentioned. Normally what i do is remove and remount the lens. But i will check the af settings again! Good to hear its not lens or body...

I have no doubt that both DSLRs can probably withstand such abuses, and survive with just minor dings and scratches... But what's the point? Unless you enjoy going to NSC or don't mind de-valuing your DSLR nearest to rock bottom when you want to sell it, I'd suggest use the DANG neck strap! I always do, and my DSLR is still pristine, no matter how much I've used it! :D The right way to use it is probably over your neck...slinging it by your shoulder sides tends to slip anyway, especially if you're carrying other barang-barangs. If you find it too much of a hassle or straining on your neck, you're probably not using it much, might as well just put it back into your bag...

Welcome!! I think all your lenses are good choices including 28-300 - it should cover most of your needs! 30mm? I trust that is not a Nikkor? Sigma?
