Well, it's for my upcoming trip bro. I will be touring from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai, Burma border, Laos and Pai province. The thing is I'm afraid is that now is winter time for north of Thailand, thus there will be less sun, will my lens get moist? Any feedback sir? :)
moisture usually forms when you go from cool to warm place, thus moisture condenses on the cool surfaces.
If the air is dry enough, the moisture should go off fairly quickly without requiring you to wipe. Never been to Northern Thailand. Don't know how cool/moist it gets during winter. But I think should be no problem for D90 :) Just cannot shoot so quickly after taking out of bag sometimes, that's all :)

if u plan on shooting, jus hang ur cam ard ur shoulder or neck.
if u keep it in ur bag and wan to shoot quickly, likely not possible cos condensation on the lense is common, even in early morning if u r coverin wedding

If you're looking to sell it off, please do so at the BnS sub-forum. But, care to share what's so frustrating??:)

well, this IS the D90 user group so i would say everyone here is interested in the D90, but if you're asking if anyone's interested to sell:
1. wrong forum, please post at the BnS, as what smiles88 has suggested
2. wrong people to ask, as this is the D90 users group which means everyone watching this thread is most probably a D90 owner as well
:D

if you're asking if anyone is interested in learning the D90, then this is the correct forum. care to elaborate what you're trying to learn (but gets frustrated)?

don't get frustrated . . . you may wish to attend photography class (fee) . . . or even attend outings (free) organised here . . . you will learn easily . . . :)

D90 is awesome . . . we are all here to help . . . :)

I have a problem with my D90 and 18-105mm kit lens. I can't seem to focus on far away (more than 100m) objects after focusing on a near object. I.e to say, I focus on a nearby object at about less than 1m and decide not to snap so I release the shutter button. I then turn to a far object and half-press to focus. The focusing is slower than usual and it will not focus till image is sharp. The focus indicator will still light up even if the image is unfocus. The objects which I mentioned are the usualy objects I took when I first purchsed the camera. I can focus with no problems back then. I am using AF-S mode. Anyone encountered this issue before?

Hey guys, I'm 2 mths old D90 with 18-105 kit lens newbie. I have few questions, u guys maybe able to enlighten me:
1) Will the live view mode shows different color when we change the ISO before we snap?
2) Can we pre-set the all the color balance or choose the mode (sephia/black & white/etc) before snap?
3) Is Tamron 17-55 heavier than Nikkor 18-105?

Thks in advance :)

1) Change in ISO should be visible. But ISO showsdifferent colours? I don't really understand. :dunno:

2) Yes

3) Tamron has 17-50, not 17-55. Nikkor has it. And yes, the Nikkor 17-55 is heavier than the 18-105. Tried it before. For the 17-50, I'm not so sure about it. :)

HI pros....got noob questions to ask. Please dont blast me.
How long has D90 in the market since?
Is it advisable to a about-to-start beginner to get this camera or to get a newer model like D3100 (i knew D90 is a much better one compare to D3100).
If i were to get D90, how long can this camera last me? (maybe this question not relevant and logical)
Thanks.

I think about 2 years?

Advisable or not, recommended or not, all up to individual. Have a feel of the various models you're interested in. Are you going to use AF-D lenses and want AF? If yes, your answer is D90 and above range of models.

Only you will know how long you will use your camera body. What do you mean by how long would it last?

:)

hmmm, this sounds like an intriguing "problem".

You're attempting to switch from somewhere close to the near-focus point till the infinity-focus point.
This should still not be a big problem to the camera/lens. Shouldn't take more than a couple of seconds.

The focus indicator lights up even when focus has not been achieved? In AF-S mode?

hmmmm.... strange indeed. I would say this problem requires more hands-on troubleshooting. Either you can meet up with us or else seek help from someone who can physically troubleshoot this issue. Perhaps NSC or the friendly store you bought your D90 kit from?

1) ISO doesn't affect colour. If you're talking about white balance, then yes there should be a difference, but I don't know if the screen, in LV mode, can replicate exactly what will be captured/recorded when you depress the shutter release.

2) Yes

3) Tamron 17-50/2.8 or Nikkor 17-55/2.8?
Tamron should be about the same weight. Can check out www.photozone.de to see the weight.
The Nikkor, I'm pretty sure, is much heavier

If I'm not mistaken, D90 was launched in Singapore around Aug 2008, or perhaps just before that.

D90 is quite different from D3100, both in ergonomics and functions. But hard to say whether you will want the different features or not. It's really up to you. Try to read up about both cameras first. Don't make a hasty decision.
D90 is pretty much replaced by the incoming D7000. Though it's gonna be 'outdated', that doesn't make it a lousy camera. Probably you can find it at a good price :)

I am very puzzled as well. Yup, in AF-S mode and focus indicator lights up even if image is not in focus. I would need to focus a couple of times before the image is focused correctly.

I also realised that it only occurs during the day time. At night it focuses quite accurately.:think::think:

only certain subjects or just about everything? Sometimes it's the contrast (or lack of it) that confuses the AF sensor.

Hopefully it's not a real 'problem' with your camera/lens.
