Welcome! 3 weeks already, I trust your user manual is already like pickled vegetables? :bsmilie:

sadly, no... i haven't touched it yet... i just shoot and shoot randomly and knowledgelessly... out of 3000pics 1nice and i like super motivated liao... waiting for my course to start soon.

honestly, i didn't know the manual is much use...

Welcome aboard D90 user group... I don't care about other manuals: PC, Iphone, HDTV, Playstation, etc etc... but the D90 manual is VERY important reading! I suggest you read it thoroughly, and keep it at hand in case you need to refer back to it. It will explain in great detail all the complicated menus, important settings, etc. All of us has gone through it and occasionally do refer back to it to keep us abreast in knowing how to use this wonderful DSLR... In doing so, it would probably let you have a lot more useful pictures out of the 3000 pics you took, instead of just one...;)

Lastly, before you pop in a question on a certain function on the cam, please make sure you already consult the manual first, or else it'll be considered spoon-feeding... which is highly discouraged here. After you have gone through the manual and still do not understand what certain statement means, then please feel free to let us know - the seniors and the more experienced will be more than happy to help you walk through it. (This paragraph is directed to all newbies coming in here, a gentle reminder)

Enjoy your stay! :)

the thing I like about D90 is the layout of the buttons. I would say I am fairly familiar with where they all are, so I can adjust quite a number of things without really having to take my eye off the viewfinder.

You'll notice that the key functions like EV compensation, ISO, etc can be accessed whilst still maintaining a comfortable grip on the camera.

Hi, a new D90 user.:bsmilie:

hi and welcome

we're a helpful bunch when it comes to the d90's features and whatnots, so you're in the right subforum. ;) however it helps to do a relevant search first to avoid some ribbing from some of our well-meaning members. :bsmilie:

well, it's already at a low low price, eventually it will have to level out to a base price. there's a fairly good chance it will drop esp with the release of a "replacement" model, but i'm not too optimistic it will be a significant drop in price.

just my 2 cents ;)

i got a feelin' it might jus b discontinued...

What feel'n? It's a fact! :bsmilie: It will slowly fade off into the horizon singing its last swan song... *byebye*.... But in the mean time, make use of it as it there's no other better DSLR you can lay your hands on with your $$$... :) REMEMBER to READ your MANUAL FOLKS! Well, I'm submerged in the SB900 manual at the moment...boy D90 Manual is SOOOO MUCH more fun to read!!

I forecast that D90 life still have a long way to go...

because D7000 pricing will be a deterring factor

yeah not that soon phase out la i guess. you see Canon 550D out for sometime already but 500D is still selling.
