Bro.. if you say its too bright.. you could increase your aperture speed and -ev by about 1 stop or so depending on the situation.

As for low lighting area. if its group photo. turn your ISO 800 pop up your flash set it to rear curtain and get everybody to stay still for 1sec if that is possible. At least you get the a nice background lightings and lighted faces. ^^

hello..
new learner here.. how do we set the flash to rear curtain?
at night in a cafe with yellow lighting, i set the ISO to 2000 w no flash, but very subjected to handshakes. cant remem the aperture now, but think exposure was 0 at neutral. How do we minimise that?

thanks in adv! :what:

Bro,u can hold the flash button(its below the flash on the left side) and turn the main dial till it indicates 'rear'. holding the flash button and turning the secondary dial changes the flash compensation.

If you're having handshake blur try to use a smaller f stop to get a faster shutter speed.

Press the flash button on the left side which is slightly below the pop up flash, and turn your dial at the back (not the front).

Cheers . . . :)

talking abt ISO,
so usable ISO for ea camera is whatever is the "max" half it to be safer?

Too much bromance here, it's good for a change! :bsmilie: Good to know the flash functions too... I hardly use the flash, but the EV change function will be useful when I experiment next time!

It depends on situations i think... sometimes if it is too dark, half of it may not even be good enough...

i think if the light is bad just bump the ISO up to whichever you require. Noise can be reduced in PP i think, though i have yet to try it before. Not sure the extent in which noise reduction in pp can achieve.

Bitec sis, if you're game for some TCSS, do remember to drop by the D90 TCSS on Kopitiam. And also what D90 crowd poison themselves with other supporting buys. That may help bring some balance to the D90 crowd a bit... Over here we try to keep things a bit sane... :bsmilie:

Balance?? Hmm.... :bsmilie::bsmilie:

So what is the ratio now??

Lets just say that if we were to play seesaw with M on one end and F on the other... it would simply be no fun... :bsmilie: okay, lets not digress before we invoke the wrath of the mods here... :bsmilie: Staying behind bars is 100 times no fun!

Anything above ISO 800 for D90 is not acceptable for me.

=_=!!

Quite sure its the reflection that cause the 'glaring'. Or Kit lens CMI.

Read about filter that can block UV. Is UV part of this glare??

Nikon or Nissin?? Must really get flash for nite shots. 1sec?? My little girl can't even sit still for 1/2 a sec. wahahaa :bigeyes:

Seriously, ISO1600 I wun use even again on my D-90.

So D7k or those high-end camera will perform better den D-90 on high ISO? I think so ya...

The kit lens is a good lens. UV doesn't cause glare.

Flash can freeze the subject, it all depends on ur shutter speed.

If u shoot RAW, the noise reduction doesn't apply. ISO 1600 is usable if you just post online not making a huge print. Simply apply reasonable amount of noise reduction in photoshop.

New D7k is definitely better in terms of ISO since it has newer tech
