since the CPL has got the rotating lens..perhaps a filter wrench might b the best solution?

can i bring back to the shop where i bought the ring & filter from? ask them to separate for me?

CPL means LPPL....
can't use the rubber mat technique.

I noticed that most of the shots in P, A or S, will be over exposed. I had tried to close the shutter smaller, or increase the shutter speed, but the pictures are still over exposed. I have also tried switching off the active-D lighting, and changing the ISO, but there is little change.

I had to step down the EV to about -1.0 in order to take some decent shots.

Any body knows what's happening here?

difficult to figure out without a photo.
Show us the example of overexposed, with EXIF data intact if possible.

What about wrapping thin strips of rubber around the ring - wrap it thick thick and then tape it down. The kind that you wrap around badminton/tennis racket type? This way, the rotating ring also kena locked down as well?

What about light knocks on the adaptor ring (to dislodge the tension between the two threads)? I've put a piece of cloth the soften the blows and protect the filter glass from hitting something hard...

hmm i am using the VC version.
dun have over exposed prob.

i think u need to meet out for an outing and then the senior will be able to advise u more.

looking at the exif maybe also also but also depends on the actual condition of the area.

the step-up ring is quite solid leh..

it is made of alu for most. shld be able. but try the method mention others 1st, but cpl is tough.

No issues with this lens. I'm using the VC version btw. Fantastic lens considering we pay only a fraction of what the original costs (Nikon version).

Anyway, before you point the finger on the lens, have you tried comparing the pics taken on another camera, shot with the same settings (same ISO, shutter, aperture)?

i have a tammy 17-50 BIM on my d90. works perfectly.. only gripe is sometimes the AF will go to sleep. press and press also wont stir. need to dislodge lens and clip it in. then it'll wake. but doesnt bother me!

i have another friend that uses d80 and tammy 17-50.. he does experience such exposure problems too. shoot at F8 must minus like 2 1/3 EV. hardcore!

Funny. I never had any problems with the D70, D90 or D300s. No exposure problems, no AF problems, no connection problems.

yo bros, any cheap & effective method to brighten up a white background? just a very small area..probably 1ft by 1ft..~ i tried using led torchlight.. but only less than 50% area is lit..

Buy a Nissin 622. Set to optical slave. Fire away.
