Haha i see. Is ViewNX2 much difference from the previous? Have not downloaded it to try

Dunno coz i have never used ViewNX before but NX2 seems very intuitive and easy to get the results that i want.

Going down to chase the sun again. Hopefully can come up with something better than this one yesterday:

Yeah, ZCA's example is really good! But having known that, I don't think I'll get lower stop NDs for the moment, 10 NDs more crucial! :bsmilie: (read - hotcakes!)

Note: that's just me, not saying 2/3 NDs no use, maybe later... but for the moment, longer shutter delays are topper priority.

hahahah thanks...
another reason why lower-stop NDs might be useful:
when the water is quite fast-moving (eg. a stream flowing from a waterfall),
so: for example 3 stops ND gives you 1s, and 10 stops ND would require about 120+ s

basically if it's smooth, it's smooth... more stops may not give you much difference, but if you can shoot the next shot within 1-2s, you can get more shots in during the time where the light is changing rapidly (dusk, dawn)...

* the difference might be even more dramatic for those cameras whose Long Exposure NR cannot be switched off (eg. Pentax K20d :) ), so 120s exposure means at least 240s between shots...

just something to ponder over :)

This is the first shot i took at my not-so-secret secret location. Actually i was on the way to the optimum point when i glanced off to my right and saw the blue hour had already begun and this low level cloud formation was moving pretty fast so i stopped short and set up my gear to shoot. Not being the ideal location, the tree leaves appeared in the top right hand corner which i did not have the heart to crop off in PP as i liked those buildings underneath it. Oh well... 30mins later i moved off to my optimum shooting point which was just a short distance away.

Ok, ok... you've cured my "chiu jior"-ness... decided to put off the N110 order... Afterall, I am waiting for the Big Stopper already... If later I feel that I still don't have enough stops, I can always buy the ND110 half a year later (hopefully the stock levels are more stabilised then)... But maybe by that time, I may not need more stops... Actually should save that $$ for more GNDs and other filters. The GND plate I'm hoping for next is either 1.2 soft or hard... I feel sometimes 0.9 GND not strong enough in some situations...

BBB virus cured... without spending...

Wats Big Stopper?

Oh, it's just a plain black tinted square piece of glass... that costs 188 bucks... :bsmilie: Don't ever let anyone who know nuts about photography know about this if you do ever get one... they will laugh their heads off...

What and which macro lens? You into shooting bugs and butts too?

Serious landscapes hor... get the holder type and BIG STOPPER will be part of your inventory...period. :bsmilie: Why holder? Coz, GNDs will be properly used... you can slide up and down to position the demarcation line between ND area and clear. More versatility when you try to do composition.

Come come, next D90 outing I'll let you molest the Lee holder...:devil: :bsmilie:

Haha yea I'm into shooting bugs. Thinking of the Nikkor 105mm Micro. Just posted my first attempt in the photothread. Next outing gotta learn more from you guys about filters. Seeing your conversations i have a lot of question marks popping up in my mind haha

I don't think I'm getting the holder soon. Moreover, I'm using TianYa. So yeah... Probably not Lee yet. haha.

Hahaha... u think getting the micro lens is all you need har? NOT enough one! Next you'll be drowned in the decisions about what flashes to get (most likely about 2 flashes at least), then brackets to hold those flashes, need R1C1 or not? Etc etc...

In every specialised genre of the photography, there will be a BBB virus waiting for you...

Btw, I'm also eyeing on the 105 Micro and R1C1... but that can wait... since I want to focus on landscaping for now...

Sorry to OT abit, but would it be better to invest in a Lee system or the tian ya is enough already?
