This should be sticky to all those asking "should I buy Dxx or Dxxx?" thread.....because after you buy Dxx, your heart is still thinking of Dxxx....every single picture you shoot....even if the picture is very nice liao.....you will still wondering it will be be a notch better on Dxxx :sweatsm:

maybe we can have a shootout
same location, same photographer, different camera

then you can see where the d700 really shines and where it is the same

I believe D90 to FX will be a very good upgrade, esp noise control and pov from a 35mm.

You might consider D90 as ur backup while D700 as the main. :)

Then the 2nd sticky will be "should I buy Dxxx or Dx?"

For me, understand what I want is always enjoyable...
But I will only buy what i need.

That was what I was thinking every time I went out shooting with my Dxxx :sweatsm:

use the budget of D700 to get good lens....

lens is more important than body unless unqiue shooting requirement is involved.

I have a very broad opinion on these kinds of questions. If you have to ask, you don't need it.

If money is not a problem, go for it. No point even asking, D700 is better in every way except size and weight.

Just don't fool yourself into thinking your photos will automatically improve, and don't fool yourself into thinking you'll automatically become a better photographer.

Landscapes, people and flowers, D90 doesn't even break a sweat. Low light, fast action, there you'll see big improvements.
