oh yeah. good point there. so I guess it's not very worth the sunset shoot. night time? not much lights there other than towards RWS right?

okay. I shall lie low for a few days... haha. tomorrow don't test saturday I can test the ND110 as well. going for the shoot at Merlian Park! hehe

Why not you go shoot at the Central now? (Clarke Quay) They are having Lantern lights on the river front! I went there yesterday myself and shot a few!.... More colours than the usual nights...

I've done a night shot recently... haven't posted it up... Pretty dark place really - when you look directly at the RWS... and the construction going on the right side of the causeway (bridge) will probably detract you from shooting towards the left side of RWS... flares from the heavy construction spot lights... Secondly there is a lot of activity on the water surface - bump boats, small water crafts busily going to and fro... water is going to be hard to be really still... Lastly, if you don't mind streaming lights from the cable cars (due to LE)... But you got the ND110... those won't matter! LoL!

hmmm. like tt I think I can forget about it already. May go there to recce since I'll be there for dinner tomorrow. Thanks for the information! helps inexperienced people like me. haha

anyway, I haven't seen OGL for quite some time. Too busy shooting? :bsmilie:

We can go RWS sunset outing when the waterfront section is fully open. I was there about 4 weeks ago and it looked like in final stages of preparation. I expect it to be open fairly soon. Got some interesting foreground, and the setting sun should be visible, if you like the 'egg yolk' thingy... :)

Wah.... This outting I more or less confirm will be able to attend! :bsmilie: Since only a stone throw away from home...

Btw, any one considered going up to Mount Faber for Sunset shoots? There's a direct bus from Seah Imm Bus Interchange you know?

I'm also interested in this outing! Just 1 MRT station away.

BTW bro, you're back already?

Not much view from on top, from what I remember. The trees quite obstructive. Unless NParks did something recently... :dunno:

Yeah... touched down last night. Back to work today...

Wow...that's dirt cheap. Considering usefulness is confined to f/1.4 to f/4, DOF is kind of limited, I guess that's understandable. Was it too sharp for portraiture? Without AF, one is limited to non-fast moving subjects...

sold at USD $299 in the US. Don't forget Sigma 85/1.4 is also coming out. Need to see reviews for that also. Knowing Sigma, the bokeh will be fantastic...

Here are some reviews I have read several momths back. Quality looks very good wide open.

Wow... you're poisoning me with Sigmas man! :bsmilie:

Btw, do you use your Nikkor MF 50 f/1.2 often? With the D7000 coming, I can't help but look at this lens even more...

Not too much. I use my 50/1.4D more. 50/1.2 is my dad's collection.

Meaning not as useful or are you intending to preserve the lens as pristine as possible?

Edit: sorry for the question (kinda blunt now that I read it myself)... nevermind, could be a sensitive one.

It's my dad's baby. I seldom bring it out since I have the 50/1.4. Sometimes you need AF... especially if you shoot kids.

But the 50/1.2 is a very good lens. And it is perfect for film cameras.

Well, it depends on the age of the kids... Older ones would learn to pose or at least prefer to pose. ;)

Thanks for your opinion. I'll look at it when I get the chance.

Yeah boy, sorry, should have welcomed you back earlier! Time flies so fast! It's almost like you've never been gone! :bsmilie:

When are you usually available for calling? I live nearby, can be almost anytime (regularly walk up in the past). Mount Faber I mean.

Weekdays hard to tell you where I will be. Its either at North(Ang Mo Kio) if not Lavendar(Near Central).

Weekends lolx.. slack at home if nothing better to do..

Wah sian! J3:16 also don't have the step up ring I want! If I'm really desperate can use 2 step up rings. But like a bit gong leh
