D90 Poison Club - TCSS Part I

I tried using that but then after I placed all 5 points the software say it's having problem and cannot link them. Is there something that I have to adjust on my camera while taking those pictures?

How many pictures you have? i have around 3-4 pictures to stitch together. So i have around

5 control points for picture 1&2,
5 control points for picture 1&3,
5 control points for picture 2&3,
5 control points for picture 2&4,
5 control points for picture 3&4.

Remember after selecting the first control point, the subsequent points will be easy because the computer will try to suggest the correct spot for you. Also u should use the "finetune" button to get more accurate alligning.

After that must select "optimze now" for both optimizer and exposure to achieve a constant exposure.

If have pictures with vary exposures, you should anchor the picture with right exposure under "images", under the button call "anchor image for exposure".

Finally go "assistant" to use the align and you will see the result, the smaller the standard deviation, the better. Mine came up as " very good fit statement"

maybe your overlap was not sufficient?
I've not used Hugin before, so not much help... sorry!

And of course it does help if the pictures are well taken. Like use a tripod and you fix the height and sweep from left to right, pray that the weather condition dont suddenly turn very dark or very bright or have strong winds that will affect the clouds movement. Camera settings, i never change much, except manual mode all the way with auto iso disabled.


I am also still learning, so seniors feel free to guide or correct me if i am wrong.

Well, if you do find a need to, then go FF... otherwise don't end up with a white jumbo. Plus it's like going over to a more expensive system only 2-4 times more ex!

For us, it's all talk (a dream)... Won't go there unless the price is more than reasonable to handle - lens-wise, it's going to kill us more than the FX body itself...

nope.. alot of other usage.. work also.. but when needed.. I dun wan to do extra work.. =/

I wanna get the web-version. But waiting for a good price. I need the Illustrator/Photoshop/Dreamweaver most.

For me, I don't think I'll be editing videos and sounds that much (unless I'm into it seriously). Hence, web-edition fits my needs more than other packages.

Lol, me bit on the fence... I'm IT trained but stuck my foot into the Creative realm as well. :bsmilie: I can program (trained in Basic, Cobol, Pascal, C, ASP during my heydays), but I find it a bit too dry for me so I slide over to the creative side many moons ago. Now I breathe Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver day in day out... :bsmilie:

Edit: aiyah, lets not dwell into this discussion. What is dry to me may not be dry to you. You're looking beyond that already, hence not that dry for you. It's just not my cup of tea that's all... For me, I can do for-next loops, call routines, if-then conditions, create/pass weird variables and constants straight text-book style... But if you ask me to make it more efficient and all, my mind will shut down....(like sian ji-puah...) :bsmilie:

Correct. Actually any form of serious work in any profession will make your brain work... It's just probably working out different parts of the brain that's all. Have you tried doing Human Resource Management work that you have to deal with staff shortages, recruitment (hire and fire), appraisals, etc? What I think? Different work makes different peeps tick... Whatever that floats your boat, remember?

krig u did ask me why i would use nd to do potraits let say a high contrast scene, and i wanna use flash, but i still wanna maintain shooting at 2.8, i can sync my flash at max is 1/320.

here is why, i know there are better method than mine, but i like using this way, others may disagree but hey it works for me... sorry cant show the pic with ppl in it but below is an example...

iso400 1/320 fill flash, no nd...
