You should format in your cam for CF..

I echo the same problem with my D810. Previously my Lexar and Sandisk CF cards were working well on my D800 and D800E. I've used these cards on the D810, kept showing Card Err. Tried to format using the cam but kept saying unable to do so due to faulty card. Hence there is no way to format using the cam. No problem accessing these cards using my computer. I can even access some existing photos on the cards. I reformat one of the cards and put into D810, still Card Err. I can't seem to find any workaround on google.

Ok so creating the list of major issues for D810.... we start withhhhhhhh....

1. No Hot Shoe Cover.... lol.

2. Read Error of CF card even with/without formatting from camera
3 ....

they say sandisk extreme CF cards should work fine with D810

My friend said that the D810 Auto Focus was not even better compared with D800.

So for D810 owner, how is your experience with D810 Auto Focus at dim light ?

Define "not even better" - Locked on AF not sharp ? Slower AF ? Failure to lock on AF ?

Coming from a D600, the AF is leaps better. Had a friend who just got his D810 (upgrade from D800E) and we all agree that the AF is now better. Non-prime lens like the 28-300 at f/5.6 performs better, even at night on the street.

... Sounds promising. Wonder how 70-300mm performs on d810...

I was not referring to AF-tune, but AF speed in the dim light.

This is great news that D810 AF performs better than D800E !

x0tiq, have you bought Df ?

I was at a Camera shop and I almost bought it.
But something told me hold on to that purchase.
Cause there might be a release of new Fx camera soon.

But still. Df has it's own special ways ...

Just bought the D810 a week ago. Love the sound of the shutter and been told they change the shutter module to minimize the vibration. I think it really works well.

Hi there

I read with interest in the NIkon D810 thread that certain CF cards cannot be read on D810.

May I ask since you bought it, do you have any issues with the CF card in your camera? What cf card are you using if there are no issues?

I am considering getting a D810 to replace my D800 as I read that the D810 shutter is way better.

hope to hear from you

thank you

Currently i am using Scandisk Exetreme Pro 16Gb for SDcard and CFcard. No problem so far.

I shall test my other SDcards when i got home. If the card don't work it will show error even after format in the camera right.

I'm using Sandisk Extreme Pro 64gb for SD and CF. No problems at all.

The D810 shutter is a lot more 'silent'. The volume is honestly the same, but its not longer as high pitch and travels a shorter distance. Don't test it with the shutter at your face, test it 1m (hand held distance or get a friend to do it) and you will see the huge difference.

I had tested all my SDcards from Scandisk Ultra, Extreme and Extreme Pro and all works well with my D810. CF card i only have Scandisk Extreme Pro and it works well too. Hope this helps.
