Currently owning the kit set, will be getting a prime and a flash in the next few months to come![]()
I guess, i will join in as well, Planning a D80 or (D90 - if it comes out)
17-50 Tamron 2.8
70-300 VR
12-24 Tokina F4
That is my ideal kit, how much will this setup cost me excluding the camera?
wah bro, welcome to the Dark Side...
Thanks! Haha.
Anyway, am considering either a 35mm f2 or a 50mm f1.4D, as well as a 70-200 f2.8 VR lens (very tentative, depending on budget) for next year![]()
how about this :
1. Tokina 12-24
2. Nikkor 70-300
Seems like tokina 12-24 is very cheap in HK

USD$400 is less than S$600 and it comes with free UV filter and 7 YRS INT WTY!!!
Wonder whether the international warranty is valid in Singapore? Any thoughts? Quite tempted to try.
approximate budget 2.3k bro just for the lenses alone.. good luck!!! don't be to hash..
Just got my D80 2 days ago and new in SLR world.
If interested in landscape, buildings and macro so kit lens + 50mm for simple setup and learning?
Thanks all.
hi guys.. how about d80 with tamron 17-50mm f2.8 as my start up set?
Thinking of replacing my Nikon 18-135mm with a Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 but in a bind about loosing the extra reach of my walkabout 18-135mm lens for a faster f2.8 lens.
Any advice?
Well, you can always add on a longer zoom to cover that range later on... With one, you'd get constant f2.8 throughout.
The kit will only give you f5.6 at the max zoom range.
