Think this is a wrong place for this. You should Publish in B&S section.

Uncle James there quote me for $335, didnt bargain cause he gave me a good price for the body :D

Think thats the price for 35mm 1.8g. It's a wonderful combination

Yes, its a 35mm F1.8g, can't be a f1.4, it cost a bomb. anyway, good buy...

Paiseh :embrass:
Yesterday too tired type wrong, didnt realised. It would be great if i could afford the f1.4 :bsmilie:

Haha. 35mm f/1.4 and f/1.8 big big difference leh. Haha. But yes. The 35mm f/1.8G is a good lens too.

Hi Bro and Sis,

If I have no plan to upgrade to FF body, should I get AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G or AF-S NIKKOR 28mm f/1.8G to pair with my D7k. The price difference is about 3 times and is it really worth to buy 28mm with Nano coating?

I'll rent both and try soon but I also want to hear from people who is currently using and how they feel it as renting and try is only 1 or 2 days which can't really tell how they perform in different situation. My main purpose for this lens is for walk about in day and night (low light) shooting.

Thanks in advance :)

I have used 35mm f1.8G DX and also 50mm f1.8 AFS (FX enable also).
Both are great portrait lesnes, did not used 28mm f1.8G before, but saw some of the photos taken from my friend's DSLR, looks good.

28mm and 35mm actually have different reasons why you buy it, maybe you can share with us what you want to achieve then we can give better recommendations.
28mm f1.8g (FX enable), the nano coating is just to improve the ghosting or flare effects, depends how are you using it. Firstly, you must ask yourself, do your shots have all these side effects that affect the IQ? Is it the way you shoot, and filter also play a part.

Since you mention you have no plan to upgrade to FF body, on budget constraints i would recommend 35mm f1.8G, not many people are using 28mm f1.8G. Maybe some people who had used it can share their views on it.

Thanks Gnabster for your sharing. My intention for buying one of these lens is to use portrait and also walkabout while I'm in overseas trips. Another reason is for indoor event shooting too. Currently I'm using 16-85mm DX lens but sometimes seems like not fast enough for indoor event shooting.
