D7000 users (Part 4)

Use it to open a out of camera jpeg file. Scroll down and you would see total shutter count or something similar. Too late to boot up my laptop to check the name of the field for you.

Did you "open" a jpeg file using the software? The shutter count is very far down the list, near the bottom. It is called "Total Number of Shutter Releases for Camera".

Open a photo from a Nikon dslr. Sometimes a Point and shoot camera's photo does not get displayed. My old PNS didn't.

Hi Blur Shadow & Daoyin, I got it now. When I install the program there were two programs installed -
1.) Opanda PowerExif 1.2 Professional Trial
2.) Opanda IExif 2.3

Last nite I was using no.1, Opanda powerExif 1.2 professional trial, it doesn't show any shutter count. but the second one, the Opanda IExif 2.3 already shows the "Total Number of shutter releases for camera". I just don't know why it installed two versions. Anyways it's working already, never mind the one version. Thanks for your help guys!

Thanks guys for the tips and tricks, will do as recommended :)

I visited Korea this year January temperature -15 to -20. I just hang my camera on neck didn't take extra care and no problem at all, lazy to put in and out from bag as I'm always shooting, I'm not worry about my camera at all but only my fingers get freeze in the cold, battery indeed drain much faster .

The opanda software always show more than my file numbering, which started at 0 when I bought the memory card together with the camera. Anyone noticed the same thing. Difference is a few hundred.....

Not sure if this is what you mean, but I notice that the total shutter count appeared in Opanda is different to filename or file no. on camera. For more than 1 year I have my D7000, Opanda shows my D7000 have 15250 shutter counts. But my last shot’s filename/no. I took last Tuesday was DSC_5016. I have reached the no. 9999 previously so it started back again to 0001. Which means, I could have took 15,016 shots. That is a 234 shutter count difference from 15,250 shutter counts. I have read somewhere the reason being is that the shutter opens when you go to liveview thus adding to the shutter count. Thanks.

Can install it in Chrome as well but just acts as a bookmark to launch the site. Those who use Flickr, once uploaded EXIF shows Shutter Count. Havent seen it in picasaweb though. :)

For those long term owners, how many shuttle counts before camera died or went for servicing?

Incredible. Prices at Buy & Sell are hitting sub-S$1,000 for body only. People are posting to buy at $800. That's a 40-50% depreciation hit in just one year! So much selling pressure!

Such a huge expectation gap, lol

Could the "buyers" & "sellers" be the same folks?

Hi D7000 bros,
I m willing to buy 24mm range wide angle lens to couple with my D7000. Any recommendation and experience of using that focal range of lens would be greatly appreciated.
Of course the budget is limited and please exclude 24mm f1.4 from suggest list.:)

Cheers

I am using 24 f2.8 D with my D7000 since day 1 for about 18mths since.. It's about 35mm.. If u can live with the focal length.. It's a not bad compact lens for the D7000 body..

You can try with 28mm f/1.8G

I would said the 28mm f1.8G really amazing lens to be used on D7000.

@ twistedillusion : thanks for sharing. My main purpose to use this focal range is for environmental portrait, casual landscape and group shot. I've read a few online reviews. It is good and the price is not too high also. I like to shoot interior design too. So, what is your personal opnion.

@ rain5533 : thanks for poisoning me.:P. I know u r the big fan of 28mm f1.8. I have been reading your reviews for quite some times. 24 and 28mm, just 4mm is no big deal and plus the bigger aperture is more preferable. I m looking that one too.
Thanks again.

you welcome!

Actually for me on the 24, 28 or 35 & 50mm has not much different.
Why i like so much on 28mm?
Because this is cheap and awesome IQ and sharper lens.
Sometime when you buy in under your budget is does't matter and the extra money can be invest something as more important than this.
Once you buying as cheap and let go also consider fast and loss minor still not so big impact.
Unless you really buy the lens and fully using at all time.

What ever you decide and hope you be can be enjoy for everyday..

Hi,
I'm planning to get D7000 and eying at AF-S DX 17-55mm f/2.8G IF-ED lens. But seems like the lens price makes me over budget so any recommendation for similar coverage?

As for my shooting style, I took mostly scenery and some portrait with focal length between 20 to 70mm on DX format. My budget is not more than $2500 for both body and lens and keen to get fixed aperture lens.

Thanks in advance

Thanks rain for the sample photos to compare. I love all of it but I think 24-70 will be way out of my budget :(

Any recommendation for third party lens to cover 16-50 or 17-70 range?

Sorry to keep on asking :embrass:
