Hey kor kor and jie jie!
I've been eyeing the d7000 for quite a long time and have decided to buy it at angsana johan next week. I would like to ask all kor kor and jie jie here some question, like how to spot for used set because i'm scared that i will get scammed leh, even though i heard Johan photo is quite good for its services. Thanks :D

Hi, I bought at Mee Too 5 months ago, feel free to go and check it out...as mine I check thoroughly for any loose parts and scratches, finger print mark..lets hear from others who are more experts abt this....cheers

Hey thanks all! I 'll update you all when i buy it. Haha! What do you all think of the 35mm F1.8g anyway, i'm buying it as a set with the D7K? Its my first time buying and using a prime lens even though i am quite used to Nikon DSLR.

I sent it yesterday morning for calibration. I called up first last mon. I was there at 9:30am then I got back my camera and lens around 3pm. Now they are tack sharp in any focal lengths. Calibration is free if under warranty. It's troublesome to take a leave at work but it's worth it. Give them a call first.

for sigma 2.8 17-50 with d7000, which is the sweet spot at it sharpness? thanks

hi, on my initial test after calibration, the sweet spot I think is at f4, at focal lengths 27-30mm... but i will never hesitate to use f2.8 at all focal lengths too... if you pixel peep at both ends of focal lengths, say 100% of course you can see some softness but i think its normal... any lens can be sharp anyway when you stop down... I have never use the Nikon 17-55 and I don't know which is better, but the way I see it, I'm happy with this sigma...

This is a free software that shows the shutter count of a photo. Bring a SD card to the shop, take a shot with the new camera and check the photo with the software (on your laptop). Some where near the bottom will be the row for shutter actuation (count). Good luck.

Download Opanda IExif 2.3 Free - Opanda IExif is a professional Exif viewer in Windows / IE / Firefox - Softpedia

Hi, I downloaded this program and install it. But when I use it, I cannot see any entry about shutter count. thanks

Use it to open a out of camera jpeg file. Scroll down and you would see total shutter count or something similar. Too late to boot up my laptop to check the name of the field for you.

Did you "open" a jpeg file using the software? The shutter count is very far down the list, near the bottom. It is called "Total Number of Shutter Releases for Camera".

Open a photo from a Nikon dslr. Sometimes a Point and shoot camera's photo does not get displayed. My old PNS didn't.

Just go to download Picasa latest version and the property can check all the list.

The Picasa also able to light edit for free.
Why not go an download it.

Guys, would like to know if anyone has bring D7k to shoot in winter season before? Mind to share any tips and trick to keep the camera working perfectly (like: additional equipment to bring, etc)? I'm planning to bring D7k with Tamron 17-50 for my Korea trip during Dec.

The combo should be not a problem and need bring extra battery with micro fiber cloths to be swap on the filter foggy and bring the air blower and when not In used and quicky to be put in the carry bag.

The air lower to help up and blow on the view finder.

Ic, bring extra battery, but we still can charge it when going back to the hotel, right? Do we need like wrap the camera with clothes or plastic when taking picture?

Not need wrap plastic bag.. Snow still dry..
Once didn't used and sweep with some cloths and make it dry.
If in hotel room And take out and put on side to be expose the Aircon.
Cause can be avoid some fogging.

Oops the extra battery is for you to standby for longer shooting time. Cause in the low temp of the battery can be drain as much faster than normal weather.

Get a ziploc bag big enough to hold the camera. After shooting in the open and just before getting indoors, place the camera in the bag. This will prevent condensation (fogging) occurring on the camera's surface as the condensation will form on the ziploc bag's surface.

Cool, I will prepare the ziploc bag as well. Usually how long after putting in ziploc bag that we can take out in the room to charge the battery?

Keep the spare battery warm.

I don't do anything special when bringing my dSLR for casual holidays. I either bring a charger or 2 charged batteries.

My various cameras have been to mountain peaks, snowy winters, Indian deserts. Some of my dSLR has seen snow, sand, hail, harsh winds. All still work till this day, the most notable one being my aging Nikon D70.

It depends on the humidity difference between indoors and outdoors. Visually when there is no more condensation on the ziploc bag. Going by experience, about 30 mins should be safe.

If your ziploc is not completely sealed, it defeats everything.

Thanks guys for the tips and tricks, will do as recommended :)
