Today i took my d7k out for a spin. It was awesome. The iso performance was better than I had expected.

no offense, after comparing D7000 against the Pentax K-5 - the cheaper camera has a better iso performance

that's the kind of service we expect...good for u n them...must give good feedback...hahah...just to motivate them to keep working like that...

i think this is stupid. Such lame issue shouldn't even be happening in the very first place.

Abt Pentex k 5, The weather-sealed is a fast-shooting digital SLR with in-body stabilization and fast burst shooting, but it's hampered by an underperforming kit lens, poor high ISO performance, and some other issues.

wiki is never known to provide accurate info.

hmm.. personally i have both devices. And that is what i can conclude.Pentax K-5 In-depth Review: Digital Photography Review shows that the D7000 indeed loses out on ISO performance by alittle. the Pentax K-5 is awarded with a GOLD award of 83% and the D7000 is with a mere 80%.

Of course, The D7000 has its own strengths as well. But earlier since the poster is talking about ISO. That is what i have commented.

similar. Except the D7000 has a stupid default ISO control on the left. (IMO)

Annoying sia. The placement of the iso button is a design flaw IMHO

Anw Wikipedia is a online encyclopedia that ANYONE can edit. That alone makes it unreliable. But it is entertaining to read

So how do you read that photo? You better not tell me the dark one is D7000

Hard to press when the camera is eye level. Thn hard to check if you areas sing the right button when the camera is not at eye level

Ok i know how now. Well according to the widget given by the website, when I turn NR off to make things fair, D7000 has slightly better ISO than K5 up until 6400. After that all other cameras have their ISO skyrocket while K5 still goes on smoothly. But how often do you use ISO 6400? I'm more of looking at around 2000 or 3200, since that's what I use during indoor shoots

wouldn't you find it awkward?

Keep you eye in viewfinder, hold the 3rd button on the left, scroll with your index finger. Or do that all the same when looking at the top LCD panel. All changes can be seen in viewfinder or the top LCD. It's all about getting used to nikon system. Only at pro level camera then you start seeing different positioning of the ISO button. With D300, 700 and 800 ISO button on top. And D3s, with it on top and at the bottom where the grip LCD is.

Canon on the other hand, is on the right, button very small and very easy to mix up for me. For Canon is not press and hold of press once, change then press again to set. But then again, I'm not familiar with their control and that would be my problem only.
