Good question.... calibrate already seldom do again. Once a year at most..... if you have iphone 4 or 4s, the colors is quite accurate what on your calibrated LCD. On an iPAD, the colors not so maybe is not RETINA yet.

In that case I sense a good business opportunity here.. you can rent out your Spyder to people! :D I'm very sure many CSers here would be happy to rent your Spyder for maybe $20-$30 a day, give or take. :)

For comparison, Courts had the X10 and X100 at $99 and $200 more respectively than Parisilk. Gives you an idea how much more RRP is. I'd wait.

Compare d7000 they are selling at RRP by Nikon... Not sure of they brands

From what I've seen courts usually sells RRP. So 899 and 1599 are prolly Fuji RRP. At launch RRP of the D7k was 2299 with18-105.

1.8k with kit lens? kinda ex, but its out of stocks everywhere. Ask the SLS shop if its shop warranty or Nikon warranty. Shop == grey set (parallel import).
If this is your first DSLR, get with the kit lens. Sell it off later if you have no use for it.

1.8k with kit still ex? then those at court n harvrey, gain etc is over priced. then where is e cheap one? i can wait til they hv stocks

1.8k with kit lens is a average price.. As for the 35mm u will need to nego with the shop on top up.. Lastly check if it's grey set

Agreed. Most people new to DSLR would probably not appreciate having to "zoom with their legs" and might get tired of the hobby very soon. In any case having at least one zoom lens is a good idea for situations when you really cannot get up close with the subject.

haha... don't smoke him lah..
grey set = no local warranty. Warranty by shop only. Which means any problems, you go to shop to claim == longer waiting time to get it fixed.
also don't get the extended 3 months warranty if its a local set + register with Nikon Club.

The price diff between kit n non-kit is ~170+ (If i'm still correct). Might as well get with kit lens since it's useful as a walkabout lens.
If don't want, sell it in BnS. Can get better price than trading in to shop.

I'm willing to take the kit lens if u wan to sell

thanks!! so $1.8k or so is a good price to get la? :D
i keeping it ba. at most buy 2nd hand 35mm lens lo. i do portraits shoot mostly. 50 bit tight n need stand far if take full body -.-

Have to wait bah. Seems like Nikon Thai factory still not full swing production. D7000 still out of stocks all over the place.

Hello all, and while I am not a D7000 user as of yet (soon)...
I would like to ask everyone (who are probably masters of the D7000) this question.
I will be heading to Hong Kong next week, and I heard that they sell quite a couple of rare lenses there (some not available/more expensive in Singapore).

Question: Should I take the risk of getting camera lenses there even when I don't have a DSLR to test on? I'm actually looking at the Tokina AT-X 165 PRO DX 16-50mm F2.8 lens! It's currently selling at 850 dollars in Japan.

Your kind and sincere reply will be key to me exchanging more money for the trip.
I thank you in advance for your assistance in this issue! m(_ _)m
