I upgraded to a D7000 more than month ago, nearly bought from an unscrupulous seller at lucky plaza.

Anyway the D7000 is amazing (I was thinking between this and D300s). I shot in a water fountain (it was noticeably wet) and it seem to survive!

Or is it too soon to say?

Yes! Please Collect it ASAP. Just collected mine today from H and most of the staff have forgotten about the GB. Oh and rmb to check if they overcharged you for the primes when you collected your body...

i just quite confused... will lens affected ISO (noise) quality?
i realised that my sigma 18-250 at iso640 had quite bad quality compare with another sigma standard zoom lens at iso2000
and same problem, i find its focus is unstable, even in day time with fast shutter, the img can be blur or out focus
is af-a or af-s better? i tried out both time and time but i couldn find which one does better...
is tis sigma 18-250 really not compatible with d7000?
then any better lens? i need this range as it is just convenient...
what about nikkor 18-200? fully support all features of d7000?
please advise me, my big prob are lens and focus...

lens has nth got to do with the camera's iso performance. superzooms r generally known to haf poorer IQ compared to standard zoom lenses. get the nikon's version then for a peace of mind.

Im more incline on putting my money on lenses but considering the fact that d7000 has a crop factor of 1.6, seriously minimizing the maximum usefulness of the len if focus length between 70-105 is missing here.

D7k & all other DX bodies have 1.5x cropped factor. Besides that, dun you have your kit lens to cover the missing range that u said?

First of all, Nikon uses 1.5x crop factor.
The real thing about the lens is the NCC actually. 70-200 is one of Nikon's 3 "golden lenses" if I'm not wrong, namely 14-24, 24-70, 70-200. or are you talking about the non-2.8 one?

I dont own any cameras right now and usually dont purchase camera that comes with kit since I prefer d.i.y (f2.8 or below) to suit my needs. Rumor that D800 is coming out this summer, so am considering investing on a FX body and lenses.

Then u should take a look at those 3lens that seezhijie had posted. Those are the type of lens should be looking at. The three of them almost cover every normal shooting range, short of macro, birding and creative fish-eye.

You don't own any cameras right now? Or rather, have you tried cropped frame yet? I don't think it's a good idea to start with full frame

go to the price guides section in the forums. you'll find a thread for nikon, and a post for D7000. check the prices and locations there. locations are stated in short form, so look around the thread and you'll find the post where it says which short form refers to which store, together with address.

lenses wise... nothing does a bit of everything. but if you want something for general purpose, maybe the 18-200mm will do. or you can try the 18-270mm from either Sigma or Tamron. don't be afraid of the term third-party

Personally I would advice against purchasing those do it all lens. If u are just starting out, buy the kit set or a 2nd hand kit lens and see what type of things u like to shoot.
