Hi wow, I'd love to have 1 also. anybody knows where to get?

Anyone bought their D7000 from DD electronics or Artworkfoto? Safe to buy from them?

DD sets are normally grey sets. Check with them. They will tell you 1 yr warranty under shop, not Nikon service center.
As for ARtworkfoto, I have no experience.

Ic. Then products from artworkfoto are also grey sets as I saw a statement mentioning warranty are under shop too.

Yeah I think those sets from Artwork are grey units.

Just bought a D7000 with 16-85 lens! Do any of your think that extended warranty for the body is needed? If yes, could you advise me on who to purchase it too? Thanks! :D

i personally dont think registering the warranty is needed... let alone extended warranty... my lens and body i never register the warranty...

when i need a D7000 body time, it was out of stock... otherwise, i would have bought just a D7000 body with just shop warranty will do... i personally dont think such device will fail within 1 year... unless u drop it which will render the warranty out of effect as well... those problematic bodies and lens, grey merchant normally dont carry it..

Feel that recently the price for most of the grey set not quite worth it after the japan incident. Some cost almost same, jus bit cheaper or even cost more than local warranty set.
(jus what I feel)

these type of things are design for long time... if get 'lemons', they should fails fast... this is why i never bother to register for warranty... typically, either they fail fast.. or they dont at all...

I got a colleague who bought a Mac book pro, but didn't buy AppleCare, exactly 1 year the MacBook failed, end up my colleague gotta buy a new 1 becos fixing it cost a bomb. Therefore... You never know when u need the 3 extra month. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Even my entry level D3000 which has been through the test of my nonchalant vigor in handling my gear is still in tip-top condition. It does not even boast qualities like a magnesium alloy body or weather sealing. Just a testament to the durable and build quality of Nikons.

warranty is just a thing for "just in case" .. so for me I will just register just in case, as sometime suay batch problem or the set I got (touchwood) got problem. Doesn't cost anything, just few min of my time.
Although sometime the product got problem only when warranty expired.

Hi there! May I know the price you pay for D7000 body and 16-85? I'm looking at this combo too... Also with sigma 17-50 f2.8. You can pm me if you wish. Thanks!

i believe you should still be able to. it's online registration anyway. =)

You can register anytime within warranty period. For extra 3 months for nikon bodies, u got to do it within the 12 months.
