I just bought my D7000 kit yesterday! Can't wait to try it out this weekend! :)

I went to NSC to collect the 50F1.8 lens today. Out of stock till end jul or early aug. Thought I should share here so the bros don't have to make a wasted trip down. :)

I got the kit lens set for $1880 from MSColor AMK (the main shop outside). Package includes 1 kata bag, 1 trolley bag, 1 nikon tripod, cleaning kit, 8gb memory card and card reader..got a free 50mm F1.8D lens but that one need to collect from Nikon.

heard this model is selling fast now because of the free prime lens promo which ends this month...

pay by cash..if paying by credit card there is 1% extra charges..

Today I went to MS Color to buy D7000 Kit, they asked for $1899 plus 2% extra for credit card.
End up I did not buy it from them. I just do not like this kind of shop, they have different price for different person.

yup..for me because my sis know the female boss, so they call her first before going down to get that offer..other sales ppl will try to quote slightly higher so they can earn more commission ;)

Although add 2% extra for creditcard, I will still go with it. Creditcard can get 5% cashback.
10-20$ is not too much, not buy form them, just feel they are not honesty.
Tomorrow I will go to TK Foto. I got a quotation from them, price is roughly same but more free gifts.

I went to MS color last week, they quoted $1699 for D7000 body only. Is $1699 body only, reasonable ?

Anyone purchased Thom Hogan D7000 guide? Is it worth it?

Get your quote from funan, I believe it's lesser than this.

Today I formally join Nikon D7000 family.
This is my first DSLR.
my first impression, it's heavy and not easy to use.

Welcome to the world of DSLRs, and of D7000 of course ;) don't worry about the weight and complexity. When I first bought my D60, it was the world's lightest DSLR. But it still seemed heavy to me XD now I'm even used to the D7000 already, so weight isn't something you need to care too much about. Not that you bring 20 lenses out for street shoot of coz. And the functions are tough at first, but there's a light meter to gauge for you. Now I find the other digital cameras quite lacking already

Partial mag alloy..bound to have some weight la, but at least it gives u something to feel that u got ur money's worth haha. i had my grip attached and it felt more weighty, which i like.

You'll find that many of the changes that u nid to make are easily accessible instead having to go to menu and change. Was playing around with D90 previously and found my D7K to give much more flexibility! Esp the ISO perf.

Thanks spree86, cowseye for the feedback.
I will try to go down to Funan today to check out the price

Hi guys, if u don't mind the warranty in JB(Malaysia), you can get a d7000 body only for about <=RM3000....

Welcome to the family! :)
Dont worry about the weight. I had that feeling too when i got the D7k as my 1st DSLR. Now after I'm accustomed to the weight, it feels perfectly normal. Plus i got a batt grip to balance too.
