One thing I a bit dislike is the numbering. But of course, Nikon should has the consideration. More model will be coming out.

D90 --> D7000 (why so many "0"?)

Look at existing line up:

D3100
D5000
D7000 / D90
D300S
D700
D3S

hmmm..... we are missing 2 digit model and D500 here...... :lovegrin:
Don't know why Nikon like 3, 5, 7 so much. .....

They belong to the same "generation", so all using first number as odd number. I believe the next generation will be using even numbers.

Looking alone at the specs on paper, this D7000 really surpass the new DSLRs that are recently announced or launched by the other brands. Further more this is no even Nikon flagship model. Hope the D7000 performs just as well.

Its position between the D90 and D300s, it seems that Nikon has pushed up their level with D3100 and D7000.

I don't think it will be too close to D3 though, otherwise they would need to release a D3 replacement very soon.

that's what I like about nikon. They are putting great technology even on the intermediate / semi pro level DSLR.:thumbsup: See what Cano* doing ? 60D (go read up about the 50D, 60D and 7D issues, maybe going to kill their own market).
