D7000 Discussion Thread III

I just borrowed a D7000 and tested auto focus function on Live View with a few lenses. It works with Tokina 11-16mm f2.8, Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 with no built-in motor and VC and the Tamron 90mm f2.8 Macro. It won’t auto focus in Live View with the Sigma 50-150mm f2.8. I read this happens to most Sigma lenses. I think this is not that critical as auto focus in Live View is only useful when you have a flip-out LCD that you want to frame and take a quick shot.

I also tested auto focusing in Live View with the old push-pull Nikon 80-200mm f2.8 and it works fine.

2 different focal lengths, so the only one that is "better" is the one that suits your shooting needs more. Only you can figure out what focal length you need.

i pair my D7000 with me brand new 35mm 1.8G for video shoot... wats the settle for AF on Mode A cos sometimes the D7K on Mode A does not AF and i hv to press half the shuttle button to focus and with the button press the mic auto record the focus sound ... anyone care to share...

check the manual (softcopy), find 'AF-F'.

Anyone got a chance to buy battery grip? where? most shop i called have no stocks

hi seniors, i'm a noob who has just started photography. just bought my set last Friday. Did a hot pixel test and ran the hot pixel test program DeadPixelTest. below is the statistics.

noticed that the numbers don't really follow a pattern. E.g. ascending number of hot pixels with the increased ISO and longer exposure.

need your help to see if these are acceptable. TIA

i only tested until iso 3200, more or less the same as yours.

VR is important especially long focal length. Trust me.

Hi guys sorry to interrupt your discussion, i am in the market for a new camera, and i got my sights on d7000. So when i pass by shops selling cameras i usually ask for a quote.

So last night i went to a camera shop opposite mustafa and they quoted 1850 for d7000 kit.
Isit too good to be true? Given almost every other shop quoted $2k or above. My dad told me better not buy from the shop as it may have some defect or another.

Can i ask you guys' opinion?

cheers

Hi, I got mine for $1990, with kit. but $1850 is pretty good price. could it be that it is export set or something? not too sure about it.

S$1850 might be wihout GST included.
