Thinking of getting the D7000 body and AF-S NIKKOR 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR?
Currently I own a AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED... should I still get the 28-300? :think:

Answer is no. The 28-300 is not that wide, and its not really noticeable from 200-300. heck i cant even tell the difference betweem 135 and 200mm..

If you have plans to go FX in the future, it could be a good investment. Or you could sell the 18-200 to fund the new lens :devil:

I got 70% urge to wait for the body only to come... The 18-105 turns me off very much, and the staff @ CP recommend me to keep it.

I think $1600 is good price for body-only....i wish some shop offer this price (definitely buy already )
hmmm what to do? wait for $1600 or bite the hook and look for the "lucky" shop? ($1700)

Just got the D7K. Paying for kit lens is just small change as already paying a small premium being among first buyers. The 18-105 is sharp and light enough with twice the telephoto reach of the 18-55. Much cheaper than the 18-200 which isn't really that great IQ wise. The D7K has lens distortion correction so the kit will make great travel lens. People rave about the 16-85 vr, but my retailer friend tells me it is a slow seller as price is a deterrent. What I am saying is get the kit set. You can always sell it or let your family members use it. Christmas and bonus check is coming soon so why wait for a body only set. The airports always have the first baggage on carousel rule where the first bags arrive within 15 minutes while the rest much later. Maybe the second batch of arrivals will be after China New Year.
