Same FF sensor as D3 i suppose, but D700 will most probably will be a class of its own :blah:

ken is nikon DX lens crusader. DX lens rock well.:bsmilie:

KRW is quite right in his review. I can live with D300's noise. So why should I spend so much more for a D300 with D3's sensor? For me, the D700 isn't a D300 with a FX sensor, it's a D3 without built-in vertical grip.

I think the D700 will prob retail in the region of $4.5-5K. Thus, I don't think we're going to see a mass exodus from D300 to D700. The D300 will remain King of DX and those not desperate for FF won't jump.

The only extra that I think the D700 will have over the D300 in terms of functions might be the D60's manual focusing calibration and maybe.....something to toggle picture control modes, coz like many others, I also find it damn irritating to have to enter the menu in order change picture control

This is from CNET Asia:

"As usual, we were told no comments for now, but that Nikon "will say more when the date draws near". The spokesperson did volunteer that the pictures were taken at the agency where the brochures were printed."
