D700 new user - need guidance

Read properly. $2850 is exclusive of GST. TK's price is GST inclusive.

They throw in an 8GB card / Kata 123-GO-10 NS backpack and a card wallet with the D700. I thought thee Kata bag was a good deal except for that Nikon logo on it and the fact that you haven't got much space left for anything else once you have the D700 in it.

Ahhh... guess it really is one of the better deals out there nw.

Wonder is it possible to reduce the price since i don't need backpack.

You take the bag or leave it. Can't exchange it for cash in return.

Can always try selling the bag on BnS. A bit more troublesome that's all ;)

Wow, what is the free gift that come with it?

You're making it sound like YOU are the one dangling the carrot ;)

I'm not dangling the carrot. If we are talking about $$$ here if I interpreted you correctly, and paying you for teaching me, then I don't have to join a forum already. I might as well pay for courses. Thanks anyway.

You are too serious......take it easy. I think ZerocoolAstra mean as joke.

Let's not forget who's the one asking for help here.......

Yeah my post was meant to be in jest, but TS kind of revealed his true colours with the reply.
I see, so a forum is meant to be an avenue for "exploiting" the goodwill of other forumers in order to gain knowledge, so as to avoid paying course fees....

First u buy a camera and either u got zero knowledge or very basic, relax ar bro, i think u are better off reading abt the things u wanna know and try it out, self practice than slowly join outings here, got a bit cash go for courses, if u really lucky and get close with someone here, u might something more,

Zerocool is joking so chill, take a step back, and smile....

Seems like prices a bit 'volatile' depending on stock level. With the floods, I presume supplies will be affected for quite some time. (Wonder what the Nikon factory in Thailand looks like now)
Those selling it for around RM6K probably not 'maximising' profits ;)

just bring the user manual (in paper or pdf file) with you while going out for shooting.

do read up on the manual on how the body configures about, i spent half a night reading it when i 1st got it.. lol

Hey guys,
Should I use ADL or the built-in flash for fill flash?

They are different things, not really "either or" choices.

It's like asking "should I go to Orchard or take a dump?" ;)

Active D Lighting will control the camera settings to prevent/mitigate blown highlights, then apply PP in-camera to boost shadows.

Under what situations should I use ADL? I read that it's best not to use this feature?

I am thinking of upgrading from D90 to either D700 or A77, any recommendation? I shoot mainly potraits.
