definitely, waiting to see D300 (with few months warranty to go) to drop below 1.7k.
Hey AxeLa - technically you can use both full frame and DX lenses. Following is the extract from the D700 news release:
DX cropping mode
The Nikon D700 lets you select from either FX format (36 x 24) or DX format (24 x 16). At the default setting of [Auto DX crop], the camera will automatically select DX format when a DX NIKKOR lens is attached.

Cheers !!
If you are serious, then sell away non full frame lense and invest on the "three Musketeers"
14-24mm F2.8 24-70mm F2.8 70-200mm F2.8. These are my dream Pro lens combination. At the moment, I am trying very hard to resist the temptation as I know my wife will never let me off if she knows that I have such "evil thouhts"
Waaa...."three Musketeers"?? Very nice nick for the lenses...thks! All prime lenses!!![]()
buy the d700. its good!
and remember to sell that d300 to me =)
guess "prime" means "pro" to some people.
anyway as a contribution to this thread, well, FF is gonna get a wee costly if you wanna get all these pro lense, and those other lenses tat are FF seems a little old...?
AxeLa, why don't do a comparison between D700 and D300 before selling your D300?![]()

hahaha good im waiting patiently![]()
axela.....bring your DX lens ( the 16-85VR ) & the Nikon 50mm f1.8 ( this is FF lens ) to the shops next week, TEST THE 16-85 VR at 50mm & then fix the nikon 50mm f1.8D lens.
You will see the immediate difference & the definition of FF. THEN, you decide....which is better for YOU.![]()
