d700 and D3s replacement

I am making a guess that the D3s replacement will have a useable high iso several times its predecessor. Will this be astonishing enough? :)

I am just hoping they put the D3s sensor into the D700 replacement. I will be happy already.

If they can squeeze the D700 sensor into a FM3a body, I lagi even happier!

sure, do you also want it able to operate with battery? ;)

OMG isnt that as good as shooting with zero or 0.01% lighting conditions? :bsmilie: I think some people will just wave bye bye to flashes...

My wish for D700 replacement:

1) ISO as close to D3s as much possible.
2) AF-S around 7/8 fps or higher is sufficiently good enough (without the use of grip, grip to add more).
3) AF module / program on par with D3s.
4) 18 MP would be great.
5) 100 VF not a must but great if included.

The AF points (all cross-hairs if possible ;p) to cover a wider area/spread; like those on DX cams.

that will probably sprung a new genre call "under the star light photography"

MORE than that! Nikon will develop a whole new line of products - military grade Night Vision Goggles... Your camera maybe Zero % light-capable, but who can walk in the dark without resorting to torchlight and scaring away your subjects?!

A new breed of Photographers will arise... MOVE over SOF... here comes the SOPs! (Special Operations Photographers)... :bsmilie:

One thing... who thinks it's utterly insane to include a flip LCD screen onto newer models?

I foresee a mix reaction on this matter... Recent one UK mag review on entry to intermediate bodies seems to favour flip LCDs as a plus point... Anybody?

For me... I prefer without (even though I know its advantages).

exciting times for Nikon users. I wish the D700 successor would be around 18MP so that High ISO shots won't suffer that much.

If they add flip or touch screen, screw it. I'll get D700.

Made in Malaysia.... Soon they will have the new B (Bagus)lens instead of G (Good).

Just for interest...why not? Is it that it would look cheap / unprofessional or bad performance? I also do not like flip screen until I met someone who mounted a big 500mm lens on a D5100 for birding. All other guys were positioned in funny posture but this fellow viewed the subject with ease. I have a second thought!

maybe the new 'astonishing feature' isnt a flip screen but a totally detachable, wireless (wifi or ad-hoc) touchscreen thats able to control the camera, like some sort of wireless tethering. :)

Don't underestimate technology -- D7000 has more pixels AND better high ISO performance compared to D300... If I were to hazard a guess, the D800 at 24MP will match D700 in low light performance.

That might be reason enough to actually upgrade from a D700.

Otherwise....... nah

I know Flip screen has its advantages. I have at certain occasions raised my set above my head that I wished I had a flipper to aid me aim better. It's just that I have doubts on how long they would last... maybe I'm just old school... So 2010! :bsmilie:

Oh well, even if they do include the flipper, and the specs are what I wanted or above my expectations, I'd still get it I suppose. My boy loves his D5000 flippie for convenient and simple macro shoots, so should I then...when the day comes that I must also embrace that feature with open arms.

I think technology will improve over time... 24MP with good and clean high ISO is probably coming our way.

the picture in my head now is a totally detachable wireless LCD screen or WIFI enabled body with iphone/ipad app that allows you to use your iphone or ipad as your camera screen. Hows that for totally awesomeness, not impossible, i would pay good money for that. Anyone rich enough to fund my idea? lets do it.
