Once you moved to the Version Menu, the options > Update < didn't appear at the bottom?

yup, that's right. the "Update" option did not appear.

Currently what's ur version? Maybe it needs a prior upgrade to the ones shown above before you can update to v2.00?

think it's ver. 1.02 ... cant recall. perhaps will try upgrading to ver 1.03 then see how it goes from there

Mine was version 1.02. Din have any problem ley. :dunno:
The only hiccups of repeating the update on 2.00B a couple of times....till I took the 2.00B DIN file off the CF card and left only the 2.00A file on the CF card.
Then Bingo.....fully updated. :)

You should only put one *.bin in at any one time.

Think about Nikon Capture's bugs and you will know... :sticktong

Just curious... Did anyone try to open your new RAW file in Photoshop without using the Nikon Capture Raw converter...coz as far as i know...when installing nikon capture, it kind of place a new file covertor for NEF into photoshop....Which could means that if u install nc4.2 it will update ur photoshop and u will be using the nc raw converter instead of photoshop default's.

There has also been at least 3 threads around the forum that tells you how to restore the ACR file so that it won't use the NC's :sticktong

well after updating it feels like the camera dosen't underexpose as much as it used to (indoors). Hmm much better. I didn't try any of the custom curves.
Will try out more soon.

Err, just a question here. If I upgrade from 1.02 to 2.0 it means the 1.03 is already covered or I have to update to 1.03 then to 2.0?

I want I short cut that's why.

basically, the latest version will always address all previous versions.

U need to update both 1.02 to 2.0 and 1.03 to 2.0

1. first copy A *.bin to CF card (not into any folder) via card reader, then update it on D70.
2. Off your D70 when done. Put back the CF card into card reader, delete the A *.bin
3. copy B *.bin to CF card (not into any folder) via card reader, then update it on D70.
4. Off your D70 when done.
5. On your D70, if you want to clear all your stuff on the CF card, just format it.
6. Start shooting with your new firmware.
7. I did notice, the custom curve didn't overwrite by this firmware upgrade.

I did exactly the same as above.

Hope this helps :)

Wahh my camera died on me after doing my firmware upgrade.
Its a well known problem... CF card light keeps on blinking.
Looks like camera going to hospital liao :( Hope it won't take too long to repair.

Dann, it's a sign la. D2X.

BUY BUY BUY!!!

FInally was able to update the firmware. phewww!!!

I realised what actually happened ... when i copied the *.bin file into my CF card a folder, named Firmware, was automatically created and the *.bin file was placed in this folder.

No wonder I couldnt update ... urggghhh! :mad2: :mad2:

Ah ha!!!....

Man, what a time for it to happen :bsmilie: Don't worry, think Nikon should be able to get it done pretty quick

just a quick one, I discovered the number of available shots has increased from 47 to 88? file format RAW on 512MB.

Does that mean the new RAW file has smaller size? :dunno:

Thanks.
