The debris/lubricant issue still keeps me away even at $24xx.

There's the D800 or 6D available now. If you need it, just get any of these and be happy. This issue is gonna be present for a long time. No point keep thinking about this issue. Hobby is meant to make you happy ma :)

By the way, there's no debris/lubricant problem, the main issue is it is more susceptible to dust. Almost all images shown here or anywhere in the world shows it is dust. A few isolated cases of lub oil, but hey, I did google search and all models, be it D800 or D4, also got the few isolated case, so nothing new.

I actually think you do not need to change your camera yet, because you have been asking about this thing for a few months. So I recommend you stick with what you have at this point :)

That's cheap. Does it come with any warranty?

I just got the Pixel brand from ArtWorkFoto early this week. Comes with 1 year warranty. It cost me $110. Orient Photo sells the same for S$99 but i'm too lazy to go SLS (and on another day).

I bought it from ebay seller Milipak.

Should pay a bit more to get a tracking number.

Took 26 days to reach me, 30 days warranty.

Cheap!
But I wun b gettin 1 cos I can't fit it in my bag

Btu are same material, both are same brand ggs. Just tat 1 is glued-on and the other is clip-on

Im just trying to ask thru user experience which is better....

I'm leaning towards the clip on kind. Do you know when it's going to be available?

I was at TK photo yesterday, overheard a teleconversation quoting the D600 to be S$2495 by cash.

I then went to Cathay Photo to get a Herringbone hand grip for my D600, with the Nikon mark, special price at $29.
Others are selling around $50. Oh boy, the set up is quite complext, need to log on the youtube for demonstration to follow.

Did Cathay mention when the special price end? I was looking for that handgrip and T K was selling $49 :o

You are right, my first enquiry was at TK, and was quoted $49 too. Then at Red Dot, was quoted $55 :o

While I was about to return to TK, I just tried my luck at Cathay, thanks that I'd made this move. I did not ask about the discount period, but I believe that they still have stock till this weekend as only got it yesterday. I approached one of the senior lady, looks like the boss or supervisor.

29 is a steal for herringbone! This came at the right time since I am looking for a hand grip at the moment.

No idea... I asked tk and its not here yet... I think the glued on kind is more troublesome, but feels more secure and dust wont get in

Both will get dust sooner or later, just that the clip on offers more protection and can be easily removed for cleaning etc. At the end of the day, it is still your call.

Thanks. I'll ask my contacts at Cathay to see if I can get a steal deal :bsmilie:

Why will the glued-on ggs protector get dust?
And how does the clip-on offers more protection compared to the glued-on type?
U do realised im comparing the SAME product brand with SAME materials right? Or im missing something here...
